Last night and this morning I had to wrestle with the little guy to get his meds into him. I had to hold his head and force the tip of the syringe into his mouth and quickly push the plunger before he could push it away. I have been doing this for about a week and a half now, and he has always been ok with it. Acted like it tasted good, licked the end of the sryringe. He hasn't been as good about eating his duck soup either. He keeps wanting to get a mouthfull and run off with it. I want to make sure he gets enough in. I found out that he must be eating the cat food that he steals and takes under the hope chest, because when I was looking for him last night with the flashlight, underneath there, I expected to see a little pile of catfood, and all that was there was dust. Unless of course one of the dogs, or the cat smelled it and stuck their faces underneath there to get it.This morning he kept wanting to grab the spoon to run off with it. He doesn't eat it well by himself, and that was the point behind the spoon. It is pretty messy stuff and he wants to drag it somewhere, where he may and may not eat it, but I am sure the roaches, or the other animals would find it. The last two nights that I left the cup and spoon unattended while I watched where he was going, my border collie, jumped up and cleaned it all up!
The difference in the behavior between he and Toby and Charcoal is still striking though. Toby and Charcoal jump, and wardance and roll and make that little ha ha ha sound. Cinnamon doesn't play with them. He walks and runs around and sometimes rolls and wipes his whiskers on a throw rug, but not the playing , bouncing around thing. He does get joy out of stealing that cat food though and getting a drink from the large dog bowl . Last night he was making that little ha ha sound when he was stealing the food to hide underneath the hope chest.
I tried to give Charcoal an alternative to the styrofoam that he loves to play with so much, but he really isn't going for it. I got my ferret food recently from Dr Fosters, and they packed the box with those starch peanuts. I know I checked it by putting a couple in my mouth and they melted. The first night he was having some fun by playing in the box and throwing the peanuts around, but that was a one night only thing. Last night, he didn't even go near the box. I guess it is only good if it is dangerous!
