I think Cinnamon is doing a little bit better. I haven't been letting him out to run with the others, because he is so tired, and seemed so frail that I didn't want him getting hurt. I first noticed the difference in him and Toby when he would wander off fairly soon and curl up and go to sleep out in the open, and I was always looking for Toby, and having to wait for him to come out after his nap.
After his medication and duck soup yesterday morning he climbed down and walked around a bit instead of nuzzling into the crook of my arm and going to sleep. Last night I let the other two out to play and then got Cinnamon out for his meds and duck soup, and let him down to wander around a bit with the others. Still makes me nervous though, so I hover . The others were good with him though and played gently inside of the crinkle tunnel with him. He went into the kitchen and ate some of the ferret food that I put in the dish, and then went back into the hallway to drink from the dogs bowl. I finally got the stool specimen that the Dr had wanted, but I hadn't been able to get until then. He wandered around about 10 minutes before he crawled into a shoe to go to sleep. I count that as an improvement. I was reading the medical issues threads tonight, and I felt bad reading that no matter what the treatement, he will get worse and worse and probably only live another year. Still, that is better then last weekend when I thought he just might slip off in his sleep at any moment.
Another good thing that happened last night, was that Toby used the kitty litter box. I had begun to doubt if much of anything the lady had told me was true, and she had told me that they both used a litter box, with special ferret litter. I had some of that litter, but Charcoal never would use it. They had immediately scratched all of the litter out of the box in their cage and used it as a bed. That was Ok. It was easier to remove newpaper everyday and wipe the corner out anyway. Still, last night Toby showed me he did know what a litter box was,and would use it when he was out of the cage. YEAH Toby!!
