Sorry I haven't been around much lately. It has been rather hectic here. I sure hope Ozzie has a new brother before I finish typing this. Garfield couldn't find a better home.

He's here!! My daughyter's basement room is filled with DOOK! DOOK! DOOK!! as these two boys chase each other all over the place. The first thing Ozzie did when i released him from his carrier after our arrival home, was to run over to Garfield's sherpa carrier and attempt to let his brother free so they could play together. hehehe I worried about Garfield's toilet habits, as I did not know if this new little guy was litter trained. But when Oz Man headed for the pupp pads underneath the shelves, Garfield followed and dropped his gift in the corner opposite the one Ozzie had chosen. Garfield is still bouncing around the place, dooking in glee. HE'S SOOOOO happy! Ozzie is exhausted and is resting (or trying to) in the cage which my daughter has brought into the kids' basement room. Aaaaaah!! We're one big happy family again. :-) And Garfield is a silver mitt!! An elated Mommy GG

Oh joy, joy, joy. I never doubted that Garfield would be Ozzie's new brother. Congrats Mom. The other wonderful thing is that your daughter has been great through this also.......

After two hours, Garfield is finally winding down. He was waiting for me at the top of the stairs a few minutes ago when I went to the kitchen for a soft drink. Mommy had to chase Gar Boy down as he scrambled across the kitchen tile. All is quiet now and I hear no dooking, but Garfield is investigating mommy's shoes. I don't think there's an inch of space in this room that our new fur kid hasn't explored at least twice. LOL Garfield is a typical ferret and he's oh, so cuddly as well. I agree Na, that it's great my daughter has been so helpful today. She even handed a donation over to the staff member before we left the shelter. LOL Mommy GG

It's always a joy and triumph when one of these little guys is rescued and recieves the precious gift of a new forever home. Greta, my wish for you is many years of continual joy with Ozzie.

I must be off the meds today............ I'm confused? ?? LOL! Is it Garfield or Ozzie who has come to roost at Greta's? ? I haven't been this confused since I couldn't figure out if I had a gell suppository in my hand or a Tylenol gel cap!

Ozzie is the ferret that Greta has had for a few years. Within a short period of time she lost Nada, Cinco, TT and Itsy. She's been thinking of getting Ozzie a playmate and Garfield popped up as a likely candidate at a nearby shelter.
I know what you mean Larry, I once brushed my teeth with ferretvite ARGHHHHHHHHH

Thank you, Heidi! Yeppers, Larry. I rescued Ozzie from a pet shelter near my home that didn't normally have ferrets. That will be two years in the coming October. I've been missing my energitic furballs like Nada, TT, Cinco and Itty and they've all had to leave me. Ozzie is a greaat kid, but he's so plump from the polecat background in his bloodline that he isn't as frisky as my other babies were. But now Garfield is going to make up for that. What an Energizer Ferret he is!! hehehe
BTW, Folks, Ever since Garfield claimed me yesterday I've been having trouble remembering his name. He doesn't respond to it anyway. But the name Jeremiah keeps popping into my head when I think of my precioius new fur child. Do you think Jeremiah is too long a name to christen Garfield with? LOL Hugs, Greta

Greta, the longest name I had for a ferret was Viscount de Oviedo. I think Garfied wouldn't mind being renamed Jeremiah.

I think the problem with Garfield as a name is we are so used to hearing it in reference to "the cat" and ferrets are definitely not cats LOL
