I found out what they think is wrong with Cinnamon. The short story is the CBC shows Hypoglycemia. They gave him steroid injection and pediapred for me to give him twice a day. Also supposed to take in a stool sample when ever he goes again. He wasn’t dehydrated though, and that surprised me .He did drink some last night when I took him to the bowl, and I force fed him some of the Gerbers baby food by syringe which has some fluid in it. I am supposed to give him the pedapred twice a day to deal with his blood sugar issues. I tried to keep up with what the Vet was explaining to me, but a lot of what he said went over my head and I just wanted him to get to the part of what exactly was wrong. There was something about the possibility of a small tumor somewhere (maybe the pancreas) that was causing this, but wouldn’t need surgery for awhile as the pedia pred should help. That stuff is supposed to give him more energy and hopefully an appetite, and I will continue to get some kind of food into him , however possible. I have to take him back in a week for them to check on his progress. That 3 story cage, that came with at least one ferret for $75 or both of them for a total of $100, has become much more expensive! $253 a week and a half after I took Cinnamon because I wanted to spareToby the additional trauma. I got a neat book that the Vet had written titled "What is wrong with my Ferret", that covers all kinds of issues. When my animals have issues, they are very rarely inexpensive. I got my Lab , when I didn’t want him, because my 16 yr old dog had just had to be put down a week earlier, because my son was being evicted and there was no where else for Jack to go. That “free” dog cost be almost $600 within 3 weeks, and currently is on medication that runs about $80 per month not counting heartworm and flea meds. Maybe it was because of his issues, but I became attached to him quickly and can’t imagine my life without him . Definately will purchase insurance for all of them. Can't get it for the two newest ones until I have had them for 60 days. Out of the two ferrets. at the time, Cinnamon was the least cuddly, and most animated. Not as much as Charcoal, but he is in a class all of his own. That was what struck me as odd, when the other new one while he is cuddly, as he got used to the place ,became much more active as Cinnamon became more lethargic. I just want Cinnamon to feel better, seeing him now is heart breaking!
