I have been trying to get an appointment for him but it is Wed and apparently that is the day that the Vets must schedule surgeries, because the ones that I got that treat ferrets and one that I was going to ask to see as well, state in their hours that they are not in on Wednesdays. I am getting getting more worried as he seems weaker, and I don't see any bowel movements at all. He eats very little, and I am not sure how much he is drinking. All of them like to run over to the dog bowl when they come out to drink, and last night I took him out and to the water dish, and he only put his nose in it, then he wiped his face and whiskers on the rug, and rolled over on his back. I wanted to stay right with him to see what he was doing. He is moving very slowly. He went into the kitchen which is their next stop, looking for food. I put food out in a dish for them before I let them out. He ate about 2 pieces, before he started walking back. He walked back and under the bed in my spare room.It is a mess in there, and I couldn't see him under there. I put out a dish of water out for him, and shut the door. This morning I started pulling all of the stuff from under the bed. Found missing shoes, a new keyboard that I had forgotten, and stuff that Charcoal has drug into there. I kept calling him, and eventually he came out. I took him back to the water bowl but he didn't drink. His fur looks different to me, but it might just be me over reacting.
I read on the internet where someone had written in with the symptoms of yellow stools and lethargy with a ferret that she had for about 2 weeks. The answer was take it to a vet, but also that it could be stress, food change, and heat. My house is hot. Generally it is between 85-89 degrees. When it gets close to the 89 degree mark we turn the AC to bring it down to 80-85. We use fans for when we are sitting in one place. When I leave for work, I put the fan on high and have it rotating back and forth between my dog and the RGS and Ferrets. The other two are not affected. Same heat, same food, and Toby the other new ferret had the same stress. As Cinnamon has gotten worse Toby has become well adjusted. He and Charcoal are very active and happy. I will show up at the vets tomorrow morning when they open, and have them work me in. When I get home tonight, I will try to give him some Pedaylite, and if he will eat a little bit of Gerber babyfood. I feel bad because I didn't orginally want Cinnamon, but took him because he and Toby had bonded after they were rescued from different owners, at the lady's house where I got them. I will let you all know what happens as all of this plays out.
