My daughter arranged a special treat for Ozzie today when she set her large cage outdoors in the back yard. Soon Mommy will be taking this energetic boy back there for his most fun experience since we reached Chicago. We'll park Ozzie's cage right under the pear tree where he can enjoy the shade and look out over the many, many plants and flowers which adorn Marcia's yard. Of course, I'll be right there by his side (but not in the cage with him. hehehe) Mommy GG

Great idea Greta! I always cherished the times I had with the little ones when I would take them outdoors. The nose in the air, then snorkeling the ground, and of course the obligatory digging.

Omg! Ozzie just woke up from his long, restful nap after his fun outdoor adventure. He'd been asleep for more than an hour and a half. Since he was in the cage, Ozzie wasn't able to "dig to China," but he had a riot anyway. First Oz had to climb both ladders to the cage top to investigate the safety net and get a birds' eye view of his new world. Besides this, it was fun looking mommy right, smack in the face, as she was sitting there next to her boy. A few climbs up and down and then Ozzie decided it was time for a short rest. He lay on his back, letting the breezes ruffle his belly fur for a nature induced tummy tickle. hehehe Oz Man has always loved to have mommy tickle his tummy. A few times when Ozzie behaved unusually restless, I lifted him into my arms and held him as we walked around the yard together. But being in Chicago, I'm not sure at all about which predatory birds could be a threat to my boy, so back into the cage he went when our walks were over. The fresh air and dappled sunshine must have had a relaxing affect on my boy, because after half an hour or so Ozzie curled up in his cuddle cup and fell sound asleep. We'll be doing this lots more often though, while we're waiting to adopt Garfield so Ozzie will have a frisky brother of his own kind with which to play. I know what you mean Larry, about the total enjoyment of sharing the outdoors with one's beloved ferrets. LOL :-) Mommy GG
