(The scene is in the corporate offices of Mustelid Comics. Inc. Skippy, Skippy, Skippy and Skippy – the ferret CEOs of the comic book publisher (along with Slippy, another ferret CEO) are brooding over the company’s declining sales figures.)

Skippy: What’s taking them so long!? They should have come up with something by now!

Skippy: Take it easy. Designing a new comic book character takes time, you know.

Skippy: But this is critical. Whatever they come up with has to be good enough to sell or the company will go bankrupt!

Slippy (who is deaf): Eh?!

Skippy (loudly in Slippy’s ear): Don’t worry about it!!

(Suddenly the door bursts open. In rushes Skippy, the house artist, and Skippy, the house writer. Skippy is carrying a sketch of a comic-book superhero.)

Skippy and Skippy: Particle Man! Particle Man! (The executive Skippys look mystified.)
Skippy: Doin' the things a particle can! (The exec Skippys look at the drawing, start to look interested, then enthusiastic.)
Executive Skippy: What's he like?
Executive Skippy: It's not important! (Softly, as he looks at the sketch) Particle Man…
Executive Skippy: Is he a dot or is he a speck?
Executive Skippy: When he's underwater does he get wet?
Executive Skippy: Or does the water get him instead?
Skippy and Skippy (looking at each other and shrugging their shoulders): Nobody knows.
Executive Skippy (decisively): Particle Man!

Executive Skippy: What else you got? You got a supervillain?

Writer Skippy (nodding): Triangle Man!
Executive Skippy: Triangle Man?!
Artist Skippy: Triangle Man hates Particle Man!
Writer Skippy: They have a fight, Triangle wins!
Skippy and Skippy: Triangle Man!

(Another Skippy bursts into the room. The Skippys watch him as he dances around the room playing an accordion, then leaves. They shrug it off.)

Executive Skippy: I like it. Initial win for the bad guy; that’s always a sure seller. What else you got?

Writer Skippy: Universe Man!
Executive Skippy: Universe Man?
Artist Skippy: Size of the entire universe, man!
Writer Skippy: Usually kind to smaller man.
Artist Skippy (pulling out another sketch of a costumed character): Universe Man!
Writer Skippy (pointing something out on the drawing to executive Skippys): He's got a watch with a minute hand, Millennium hand and an eon hand!
Artist Skippy: When they meet it's a happy land!
Executive Skippy: Powerful man, Universe Man?

(Writer Skippy and Artist Skippy nod.)

Writer Skippy: Oh, yeah, we’ve got a sidekick for Particle Man, too! Comic relief, ya know?

Artist Skippy: Person Man!
Executive Skippy: Person Man?
Artist Skippy: Hit on the head with a frying pan!
Writer Skippy: Lives his life in a garbage can!
Executive Skippy (thoughtfully): Person Man…
Executive Skippy: Is he depressed or is he a mess?
Executive Skippy: Does he feel totally worthless?
Executive Skippy: Who came up with Person Man?
Slippy (frowning at sketch): Degraded Man?
Executive Skippy (loudly in Slippy’s ear): Person Man!!

Executive Skippy: Okay, but what about, umm…?
Writer Skippy: Triangle Man?
Executive Skippy (nodding): Triangle Man.
Artist Skippy: Triangle Man hates Person Man
Writer Skippy: They have a fight, Triangle wins!
Skippy and Skippy: Triangle Man!

Executive Skippy: Hey, wait a minute! Where does the Cannon fit into all of this?

Skippy and Skippy: The Cannon?

(Door opens and Murphy, handsome Sable ferret in the red serge of the RCMP; Sammy, wearing his yarmulke; and Sammy's lovely wife Clarissa walk in. They are followed by Max, another ferret with his hind legs in a wheelchair device. Max is nonchalantly towing the large Civil War cannon behind him; this is fantasy, he can do anything.)

Murphy: Yeah, the Cannon. We’ve been waiting outside waiting for our cue. “Be sure to give us a decent segue!” we said. “Sure, no problem”, you said. But do we hear anything that comes close to a segue? Nooooo. You clowns start to deconstruct some weird song. Nothing where a cannon fits!

Skippy: Um… well, it’s a surreal song. What’s the point of a segue?

(Murphy, Clarissa and Sammy look at each other.) Murphy: Ah. Right. Can’t argue with that. Well, we’re here for the birthday salute in any case. Mind if we point this thing out the window?

Executive Skippy: Probably the best way to go. The cleaning staff would raise a fuss otherwise.

(Murphy, Sammy and Max position the Cannon at an open window. Sammy gets ready to light the fuse.)

Murphy: Okay, on my mark. Ready… aim… FIRE!!

BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

WHOOOOOOOSSSSHHHH!!![/i][/size]

(Charge explodes at altitude, showering the message board with streamers, confetti, balloons, and M&Ms (Plain, Peanut, Ferretone, Haggis, Green Chili, Pemmican and all the popular flavors). Two banners float down beneath parachutes: HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAYS TO JACK DAWSON AND BOO BOO! and WHY IS THE WORLD IN LOVE AGAIN? WHY ARE WE MARCHING HAND IN HAND? WHY ARE THE OCEAN LEVELS RISING UP? HECK IF WE KNOW!! Skippy comes in with his accordion again and dances around the room playing up a storm.)

Sammy: Well, that’s another successful birthday salute! What are the Skippys doing now?

Skippy: We’re in a Road movie to Berlin.

Sammy: Okay, what about you, Murph?

Murphy: I’m going on vacation to Istanbul!

Clarissa : Not Constantinople?

Max: Hold it! Hold it! Let’s not use up some perfectly good ideas here! We’ll need them for future birthdays!

Linda has had a very full plate lately. She attended a required school (Canadian) which was geared to helping citizens to find employment. Rose is holding her own, but Linda does not feel the implant she had is doing its work. Plus Linda has been busy sewing (by hand) new birthday bedding for her birthday boys. Robin (LaF) has sent Linda the patterns for the hammys. Hugs, Greta

It's Jack's Birthday today, June 20. He's 2 years old now ! I've made a new beddings set all by hand for him, because I love him so, you'll see it in the cage. Jack got a lot of fun in his new crinckle tube, and in the big plastic bag also !!!

Just makes me want to reach into the screen and gently lift him into my arms and cradle him close to my heart ... Jack is so incredibly handsome.
