.....is being operated on tomorrow for adrennal & possible insolinoma tumors. Last month he had a lupron shot which has helped a little. (he's not "attacking" the girls anymore) He still has sparse hair growth across his shoulders and the tops of his feet. His bloodwork was good and he seems like he's in good health for a surgery. He's very active,eating/drinking well, & has normal poo/pee. He still needs prayers that it's NOT cancer and nothing goes wrong during surgery. My last three( Matador, Hobo, & Twinkle) are getting their teeth cleaned, too. Then all I need to worry about is paying off my vet bill. Vet costs have gone up soooo MUCH! But I'm grateful for a decent vet who lets me make payments every month.

I'll be praying for Desi too. May God bless the mind and hands of the surgeon and of those attending the surgery that Desi will come out of the anesthetic well on his way to a full recovery. Loving hugs, Greta

Thank You all for your good thoughts & prayers....they were answered...Desparado aka Desi is home safe and sound minus his left adrennal. His pancreas was normal with NO tumors. His surgery went smoothly and quickly and the rest of Desi looked normal.(Whoo hoo) Matador, Twinkle, & Hobo had their teeth cleaned and some pulled that were rotted. Butch came along to have blood work just because he is my oldest at 6.....his glucose is on the upper low range but I'm not putting him on pred yet since he's looking good and acting normal for an old guy. His desalorin implant seems to still be working. He also had some tarter removed and his teeth cleaned...he had no bad ones. It was a LONG day for me and it was made longer since after I left I got a phone call saying, "Twinkle is here". I had not gone that far so was able to easily turn around and go back for my Twinkle. I have a double decker Martin's barn carrier with with sleep sacks and "hidey-hole" hammies in it.....plus I made a cover for it. I didn't double check by looking into the sacks, etc. I just assumed she was one of the "lumps" inside. Desi had his own carrier since he had the operation. One of the teks just forgot to take her out of the recovery cage after her teeth job and put her into my carrier. It gets hectic in that office most of the time. Any way, I live a 2 hour drive away from the vet's office so I left at 7 am and didn't get home until 6 pm. BUT I'm releived that ALL my babies have had their annual check-up and everything done to them that is necessary for their continued good health. I came home with a frozen lupron shot for whoever might need it in a hurry. In case you are wondering what I do for ALL the time in between...instead of "being in their hair" at the vet's office, I go shopping. State College has many places to go that's fairly handy to the vet's office in Centre Hall. My second love to my animals is flower gardening.....so I went to a huge place that was ALL perennials with a friend. We each bought a plant that we're are dividing in half so we got 2 for the price of one. From there, we went to one of the malls and shopped til we dropped from sore legs and feet. Now I didn't buy anything( ALL my $$$$ goes for vet bills) except a slice of pizza and a drink but my friend bought a few items for her son and a few dressy tops for family weddings she is obliged to attend next month. No. I didn't forget about my babies while I was shopping. I called about Desi when I thought he was out of surgery and got a tenative time when I could pick up the kids. AND I was always a close phone call away from the office in case of any decisions that needed to be made by me. THANKS again for the prayers and good thoughts!

SO glad to hear that everything went well. Sometimes those vet offices do get hectic. remember when my friend had her shelter and I would help her with their visits. Once time we took in 25 ferrets. Boy was that an assembly line.
Put your sun glasses on Joyce.....all those sparkling white teeth

Good job.. gf! Your fur children are all set for another year now. It's great news to hear that Desi came out of his surgery with only his left adrenal missing. It really does sound like your boy is in top condition now. Keeping all of you in my prayers. Hugs, Greta
