I am dead on my feet buyt my house is back in order and I will be back tomorrow to catch up on everyones posts. Just wanted to stop in to let everyone know that Lily is back on her tummy meds again. She still has the runs and I was getting very concerned so I called the vet and she said it takes a long time to get her digestive system regular and suggested we go back on the meds for another 21 days. So we are. SHe also said that since Lily was already on teh meds and is going abck on them that there is a very slim chance that the baby will get whatever is going on with her. I decided to seperate them for now and let them only together for play time since they like to walk aroudn my room together and the little one seems happy to play with the other rowdys and just walk with Lily. Lily is eating solid kibble now along with her soupy canned food so thats a good sign. I will keep you all posted and will be back tomorrow to start chatching up with the posts I have missed. FOr no0w I am going to give Lily her meds and take a bth and go lay in my bed and watch TV. GOt to give my legs a rest.Feels great to have the hosue clean again!I swear , I am never taking a weekend off again!

Shadoe, take your time. The boards have been quite slow as many of us have spent a lot of time over watching Lorelei's babies during the past 5-6 weeks. The sure aren't babies anymore though. Hard to tell them from the moms

I hope little Lily will get completely well soon, Shadoe. I will keep you and Lily and Babe in my prayers. I've been wondering all day today if you've decided to keep Babe, as I thought she was with you from the pet store just for the weekend. It's wonderful that Lily and Babe are such well bonded and good friends. You are wise for temporarily separating Lily and Babe while Lily still has the runs. Has the vet said anything about the possibility that yogurt might be of help in regulating Lily's digestive system? Prayers coming your way from my house. Loving hugs, Greta

Why do you separate Lilly and Babe ? In my opinion if you separate them while the sleeping time for that Babe don't caught what Lily has, if you let them play together, if there is something to caught, Babe will be at risk at this time too. I am not certain if what I am writing make sens or not. Anyway... if Lily is a little girl stressed, tummy problems can occur and her little sweet new friend can be an help. And as your vet said their is poor chances that Babe get what Lily has.
Now for tummy problems : Some people are against "Bene Bac" because of the kind of system digestive ferrets have, the good bacteria can not work. Well me I am on the side it is a good medicine. And if that doesn't help, that help my mind, and will not hurt my Nahum. Since 2 years now I give it to him. Not all the days, because he is ok. Ask your vet for it. There is also sugar on it. Perhaps there is another similar probiotic medicine which can help.
Bird Bene-Bac Gel
"A source of live naturally occurring microorganisms for birds and reptiles,= Guaranteed total live (viable) Lactic Acid Producing Bacteria : 20 million= colony forming units per gram. (Lactobacillus casei (avian strain), Lactob= acillus fermentum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Ente= rococcus faecium, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Pediococcus acidilactici.)"
For my Ferret Nahum : "Please give 0.2cc by mouth as needed. Do not give wi= thin 2 hours of antibiotics."
I give it now for just in case, but it was given in the past for bad recurrent story ulcer, along with other medicines and it was given on 2 days (one day off, one day on)
I really think that helped Nahum.

I've got a little girl who will always have runny poo unless I give her a little bit of Bene-bac twice a day. Bene-bac is acidophilis in a form that ferrets simply cannot resist. You can get Bene-bac at www.jefferspet.com It's not expensive, and comes in syringe-type tubes that easily dispense just a dab onto a small dish.

I will check with the vet on this one. Thanks so much! Lily is much better today and her stools are getting more solid. I guess they are like humans and have good days and bad days. I have to be careful the next few days around them as NOW I have a cold. Got up and got everyone fed etc., took some meds for my cold and now going back to bed for a bit. Back later to post.
