All little update on my baby As Nahum Bear (Petit Ours) has his last Lupron shot in his back leg last Friday. 500mcg monthly depot. Now all his fur is back. That took more 3 months for to see the results. Just miss some spot around the starting tail. But there is only me who see that Lupron shot is a lot of stress and I can feel the pain they have. The 3 last times, it is me who holding my babies while the vet give the injection and while the technician hold the legs. I scruff their neck in my hand and stick their heads on my own neck. My heart was broken when I knew they poop and pee all over the vet in their back room, and my Petit Ours bit them ... the technician put big gloves What a mess. The first time I have holding Bear for the injection. The technician was scared that my Petit Ours will bite me. And both her and vet was impressive how Petit Ours stayed closed to me. How it was easy and so quick. And no Petit Ours didn't bite me. But after his injection he looked at me with very big dark sad eyes. Certainely wonder why I participate to his torture. A lot of time I said in my head I don't like when they go in the back with my babies. My poor little babies I know the injection is pain because Petit Ours his all tended, I know exactly when the stuff is pushed even if I see nothing. Well Nahum will have his implant next Monday I wonder if I will not get the implant for Petit Ours too.

Yukka, when any of my ferrets need to have shots this is what my vet does. He takes a little bit of ferretvite or nutrical and makes a line on the table about 2 inches long. When he is ready he lets the ferret eat the ferretvite. In no time at all the shot is done and the ferret doesn't even know what happened as he is so busy eating this treat
By the way....are you planning on making a 2010 calendar??

Does your vet make the shot in the back leg ? It seems to be difficult to do the injection on here. The muscle is so tiny. I miss my sweet lovely young vet and I am certain my babies too Yes I will do a 2010 calendar. In fact I will have 2 calendars : the same as you already have. I will just change the date on the page cover. And I will make a new one. OMG 14 pictures to choose ! that is difficult.

Nahum is a handsome fellow!! Love the pic of him in the chair. As for the Lupron shot my vet gives it between the shoulders, and not in the muscle. And she also gives 'Tone when she gives the injection. It doesn't seem to bother them too much.

One vet used under the skin by the scruff and another one the muscle.
I'm looking forward to next years calendar. It was a great way to say thank you to special friends

Where is your signature wanderingweasels ? It is Bear (Petit Ours) on the photos here Yes Beloved Cody had his injection between the shoulder too, and the vet I had at this time (not the same vet nor the same clinic as now) put ferretvite on the table to lick. Thank you Huronna )

I feel your pain when you know your babies are hurting from their injections, Dear Marie-Agnes. When Cinco and TT were ready to have their melatonin implants, I was sure I would begin to cry. I didn't though, as the injections didn't seem to hurt my babies. The first vet I had for Nada, Cinco, TT and Itty also used Nutrical on a cotton swab when he gave injections to my fur children. My job was to hold the treat for them. My fur kids didn't even know they were being stuck by a needle. They just kept gobbling up their tasty treat. Loving hugs, Greta

Thank you dear aunties for all your sweet words Yes Greta me too, I have tears when I see my babies in stress and I am afraid for them for their pain. Well perhaps this lupron shot was the last one for them, if both get their Deslorelin implant. I will see how it works with Nahum, and will follow for Petit Ours

I just love the third picture down of your little Bear, gf. Has Petit Ours always had the wooly look to his fur coat that so resembles that of a lamb? He is such a darling little boy. Hugs, Greta

LoL Greta, my mom said the same thing, that Petit Ours looks as a lamb LoL In fact it is a digital painting, I use a photo as reference, and paint over it with special digital brushes. For that his fur looks all curled. Strange ferret fur. Certain my baby is so unique

Straight fur or wooly, Yukka. Your precious little lamb is gorgeous and adorable. You did a remarkable job of painting Petit Ours over his photograph. He looks so sweet and innocent. Loving hugs, Greta

Yukka, what beautiful babies you have! I agree, it is soooo hard to experience injections. The melatonin injection was the worst for me. Mittens squealed at first. I had to stop the Dr. and ask for a topical cream to numb the area. Even so, I had to turn my eyes away. Next week, my Coogles will get his first Lupron shot, not looking forward to that.
[glow=red,2,300]By the way, What kind of camera do you have, I am in the market for a new digital SLR. [/glow]
