Right before I left for work, I was holding Mac and thought I saw a flea. Because I didn't have the proper glasses on and I had to leave for work, I asked my husband to please check the three kids for me and if he saw one flea to go to the vet and get some kitten advantage.
Well I talked to him on the phone and he said he did a complete check and didn't see any.
But when I came home from work, he picked up Mac to give him a treat and there were those nasties.
First thing in the morning it's off to the vet to get the advantage, but in the meantime all three got baths. It's been a long time, bedding got thrown in the washer, new bedding put down, but it will be changed again tomorrow after I put the advantage on them.
Where did they come from this time???

Fleas are clever buggers....they might have come in the house on your clothing or grocery bags/boxes. At my old house, I had them in my yard around my house. I dusted my yard with sevin. They love hot and humid weather. I hope the "kids" loved their baths.

They weren't too bad, had the water a nice warm temperature, used the bathroom sink. Drowned those little fleas in the water. When I finished with them, hubby would put one in a big towel and play...dry dry until I was finished with the next one. Lots of bottle brush tails. LOL The sure slept well last night. Hubby already left for the vet for the advantage.
Gotta get my kids flea-free

Poor you, Heidi! Flease are a curse and I see no reason for their existence except as a plague. The vet gave my son Advantix for his dog Toby, and this product kills fleas even on the dog's surroundings for 30 days after treatment. I wonder if the kitten Advantage will do the same? Hugs, Greta

The last time we had a flea problem was over a year ago, after we had visited a friend who had outside dogs and we had played with them quite a bit. I only had to use the kitten advantage once. The package does say to use it once a month though. I really don't like using it, but if they have any more little visitors I won't hesitate

Looks like things a under control. Haven''t seen any nasty things They aren't scratching either, though they really weren't before. I guess that's why I hadn't noticed any problem sooner

I am glad you found the flea righ away. They can be awful! We found one flea on my first ferret and I freaked out! A friend had his ferret over to play and when he left I found a flea on my little albino girl. I bought a bottle of ferret flea shampoo and flea bombs. I called my friend and told him I had found a flea. He replied "Oh I forgot to tell you my ferret has fleas." I stripped the cage wash everything. Put the bedding in the washer, gave Twiggy a bath. I put her in her carrier that was in the car. Set off all the flea bombs. We spent the next four hours at my sisters house. I guess I don't have to tell you that Twiggy had to find a new ferret friend. I am so afraid of a flea infestation. I understand they can be hard to get rid of. We were lucky, I have never seen another flea on any of my ferrets.

Huronna, sorry you had to deal with fleas. I absolutely hate fleas. I'm glad you got them under control quickly. They can come in on shoes, clothing, even if you haven't been around other animals with them. We are lucky in Phoenix not to have much of a problem with them or ticks but more humid climates they can come from anywhere. I knew a guy in NJ, his house was infested one summer and they had NO pets at all!
