This is my first year, I'm just posting my letter everywhere.
To my friends and family:
I am participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life this year. Cancer is a threat to everyone. No one is 'safe' and cancer can strike at any time, any place. My father died of cancer when I was 16, my mother is a 32 year cancer survivor. I pray that with patience and research we may find a cure in my lifetime.
The ACS so desperately needs the generosity of people like you and I to help support the fight against cancer. Also we welcome you to join us at this years relay June 19th - 20th at the LaPorte Co. Fairgrounds to celebrate with cancer survivors and honor those who have passed before us. Our team name is the Earthly Cancer Crusaders, our relay site will be near where pioneer land meets the midway at fair time. We will have a skee ball set up with LOTS of things to be raffled off, just a few items: cubs tickets, sox tickets, autographed nascar items, gift certificates for a few eateries in town, some jewelry, scented candles and much more~! Opening ceremonies at 6pm, luminaria lighting at 9pm, relay runs from 7pm to 9am. I hope to see you there~!
