have a new bird. It is a white dove a gentle man found. He was going around door to door to find the owner. The bird was near starvation and cold. I ended up taking it in. Come to find out someone released three white doves at a funeral. Yes a beautiful sentiment, but with deadly consequences to the birds. People have done this at weddings also. You can not take a cage raised bird and expect it to know how to forage for it's food. Food to it, comes in a container. It has been shucked and hulled ready to consume. A cage reared bird has no idea what that food looks like in the outside world. Please if you know of anyone that is thinking about releasing white doves for any reason, talk them out of it. Remind them they are really releasing the bird to an almost certain death.

It is so so very sad People don't think at the consequences. Never a caged bird will survive in freedom. There is the problem of food, but the problem of windows and electric lines, predators... He will die in no long time. I am so glad this gentle man found him. He was so bright also for to know he was a "pet" bird and no a wild bird. Do you keep this bird with you ?

It's a good thing this beautiful white dove came to you, Girlfriend. With all your knowledge about so many different kinds of God's creatures, this little bird will thrive in your care. Yes, it is tragic that people don't think things out before releasing these poor creatures into the wild to meet a fateful end. Huggers, Greta

He or she is very happy. You can sure tell it wasn't a wild bird. Comes to eat when I go into the room, and kinda sits by the side of the cage closest to me. Yukka, I have slowed down on some crafty things at the moment, I am back to work at the Garden Center for the season, and crafts kinda don't get much attention. I did make a Welcome sign for ferret lovers door. Thanks to Loveaferret. It was here idea, she had ordered one, and I made another, also doing a cat and dog one. I think my fav. item I have for sale, is the pink ferret egg with two ferret heads and a heart on it. Here is the link to the ferret items in my shop. There are many, many wonderful ferret items on the ETS site www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5191470§ion_id=5147316 A lot of talented ferret people, who know what people are looking for and can come up with great items not only for the ferrets but for their owners. If your looking to buy just go to ETSY.com sign in and in the search put in ferret or ferrets, you will be amazed.

That is sad about the doves. Speaking of stores, there is an area open here on the site for members to sell their items. It's not like MSN, you can put prices up and photos and what every you like ferretfamily.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sellingJust start a new thread as Reanee"s Store. The you get put a notice up on the general board whenever you upload something new

That little sable is on my ETSY site, he is just not listed in the ferret section, he is listed under felted items. I think I should change that though. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Thanks Huronna. I will do that when I get a chance. yukkabelle did a great post there, now I need to come up with something just a wonderful as she did.
