:-*Took both to the vet today. Bethany has been slowing down and her tummy is really big!! Thought I'd better get her checked out. And, yes, she has insulinoma so she starts on Pred today. Dr. V says there's nothing wrong with her tummy . . . she's just a big girl with a fat butt!! She should be losing weight due to hot weather coming on but instead she's still packing on her winter fat!! Of course she eats like a pig and when she's eating she guards the bowl like it's her last meal . . . every time!!
Fuzz -- now named Elvis Fuzz due to his adorable sneer -- has some problems. He has a new lump on his belly. Dr. V aspirated some fluid from it today and sent it off to the lab. There's a chance she may have to take it out depending on what it turns out to be. Fuzz also has two places on his neck that we thought were bites from playing so rough with the others. But over the past two days he's really been scratching them and has them bleeding. We've tried everything to stop him and there is no way we can put one of those collar things on him to get him to leave them alone 'cause they're too far down on his neck. So Doc shaved the places and we have to put Hydrocortisone on it several times a day to help with the itching. He's also on Sulcrafate for a while. Doc thinks they are mast cell tumors. If there is no improvement by next week she says that she will have to remove them or risk more infection. PLUS he's had a prolapsed rectum!! It's about cleared up now but we have to check it every time he poops to make sure it goes back in and we put hemorrhoid(?) cream on it each time. She's hoping that once his body heals completely from the surgery that is will stop. If not she'll do a purse string on it but we have faith that it will stop prolapsing. Other than that he's made almost a complete recovery from his spleenectomy!! He's started playing again and isn't sleeping as much. YEAH!!!
