We are back from the vet and the news is bittersweet. Lily has gained 1 and a half ounces since Sunday. The vet was very pleased with her acticity level as well. The bad news is that our little Lily has insulinoma. We have her on Prednisone(sp) as of today. She is also older than the 2 yrs we were told but the vet is not sure how old due to her condition. I bought her some more of the recovery food and she goes back in 2 weeks for her blood levels to be checked again. They all love her at the vets, shes such a little sweetie. I am so glad that I Can make the best of the remainder of her life. Here she is with one of her vets, Dr. McZGill. I will have more time to post tomorrow. Thanks for all your prayers.

Lily looks so much better now, Shadoe. And her vet is a beautiful young lady! Two gorgeous woman. posing and smiling for the camera. Many times when an insulinoma ferret is diagnosed and then treatment is begun with prednisone or prednisolone, and the ferret is watched for signs of low blood sugar 'crashes,' and treated, the little Munchkin can live for two years or more without surgery. I'll pray this is the case for your new baby, gf. God bless you both. Loving hugs, Greta (Don't hesitate to come on board at any time for advice in treating any crashes Lily might have. Many of us here are very experienced with this disease. xxxxoooo

I've had a couple with insulinoma. One never had a crash aftfer she was on pred. The other two did on an occassion. Keep a small bottle of honey in your house. If a crash does occur, flat bottom ferret, glassy eyes, sometimes drooling. Rub a little honey on her gums and keep duck soup or even some gerber stage 2 baby food handy, chicken is the best. It high in protein and easily digested. Keep it around for an emergency.
Perhaps after LIly has resouperated more fully the insulinoma may abate as her body gets stronger.

Awwww your little princess look so beautiful with her pretty Dr. I just love her little face pop in the blanky. TOO CUTE I will love to have a picture like this, my babies holding by this fantastic vet they had. She is now in the best care and with all your love, you will be able to kick this insulinoma. My beloved Anika was insulinoma and lymphoma and was well maintained with the prednisone Please keep us still updated
