First I want to thank Yukka for the Tutorial on how to start a new thread. Until I studies Yukka's pictured explanations, I was trying to write my thread in the area to the left of where it should be. (Duh!) THANK YOU!, Marie-Agnes!
My boy Ozzie has come up with a new level of energy ever since mommy took away the twice a day duck soup treat. When my fur kids and I visited my daughter in Chicago, I was told in no uncertain terms that Ozzie was morbidly obese. This statement was fortified when Marcia engaged her sister's view to convince me to put Ozzie on a diet. When we first arrived in Chicago, Marcia weighed Ozzie at four and eight tenths pounds. A week later Ozzie's weight had increased to fpir and twelve tenths pounds. Omg! That made me realize Oz Man was headed for health problems if he continued to gain weight at this rate. So ... I stopped giving my kids duck soup twice a day and replaced the soup with N-bones. Now they get duck soup about three times a week ... enough so they won't lose their taste for it in case one of my babies gets sick and is unable to eat kibble.
You should see my boy now! Oz Man still has a chubby face and physique, but oh, my! is he ever playful and much, much more active. A day or so ago I watched as he chased Itty around the house dooking with glee all the while and Happy Dancing as I had never seen him do before. hehehe So now I'm hoping the weight loss will 'snowball' just as the weight gain did. Less weight, more energy. More energy, more exercise and more muscle mass and ever increasing energy as a result. Before it was more weight, less energy. Less energy, less exercise and subsequently less muscle mass (muscles burn more calories than fat), and a noticeable decrease in energy. When Ozzie reaches the four pound mark, mommy will be satisfied. He is after all, a good part polecat and polecats are built larger than domestic ferrets. LOL Happy hugs, Greta
