Here are a few recent pictures of our baby Pudge, the newest addition! He's such a fat boy! Playtime with Stitch Hello everyone! He's such a wonderful boy! And he is getting along beautifully with the other 2! No more biting! Just play biting and wrestling! ;D

Pudge is an adorable BIG boy, Erica! He reminds me so much of my Ozzie. Oz is a mix of domestic ferret and European polecat and he's an armful when I pick him up to love on, too. Both our boys have that cute little speckled nose, and both of them are gentle, easy going and friendly with both humans and other ferrets. You really lucked out Lady, when Pudge decided to claim you as his mommy, as he's one handsome dude. Give that boy a hug for me, OK? Hugs, Greta

Is Pudge a Marshall Farms ferret, Erica? Even with my screen enlarged 150%, I don't see any tatoos in either of his cute little ears. The reason I ask is because I've been told that Marshall Farms has imported some male European polecats to purify their breeding line and prevent inbreeding. If lBIG Pudge is a Marshall ferret, chances are he's 37% European polecat. :-) I just can't get over how much Pudge and Ozzie resemble one another, except that Oz is now 3 or 4 y/o. LOL Huggers, Greta

Greta, I'm not sure if he is a Marshall ferret or not. I adopted him from the shelter I am volunteering at. So I guess there's no way of telling. His story is a sad one... he was dropped off in a TINY carrier at the doorway of Petco in Baltimore. He was skin and bones. They kept him at the store to try and get him to eat but he wouldn't eat. He kept getting sicker and sicker. So they took him to a vet and the vet ran bloodwork. There was nothing wrong with him! So the vet called the shelter and asked if she would be willing to take him and make him comfortable until he passed. Barb agreed. As soon as he got to the shelter and was placed in a cage with comfy bedding and a bowl of TOTALLY FERRET, he wouldn't stop eating!! Hence why he's a fatty boy!! He wasn't eating because he didn't like the food!! So now he is happy and VERY healthy! He definitely has a forever home with us!! And Huronna, his face is what got me. I saw him and I thought "oh boy. I'm in love"

Thank you for answering my questions, Erica. I still think Pudge is part polecat. That body and face are just what one would expect in the domestic ferret/polecat mix. I don't think Pudge is not a Marshall ferret or there would be tatoos in one of his ears. The tatoos are an identifying mark of Marshall and indicate that the ferret has been both neutered and descented. I just had to come back and have another look at this darling little boy! I love, love, love the 2nd pic, where Pudge is grinning with his little mouth open. hehehe Huggers, Greta
