Besides your little ferret girl, You have made a charming tag for your darling little baby, Girlfriend. April reminds me of Spring, buds bursting on trees, flowers in bloom and lots and lots of sunshine in between brief rain showers. And it reminds me of soft, warm breezes brushiing my face as I walk. lol April is one of my favorite months of the year along with May, June and September. Hugs, Greta

April reminds me of my April who is an Arabian grey mare who turned 20 on the 2nd. I raised her and she is the last one alive that I raised when I was breeding and selling Arabian horses. She's in great shape and is still being ridden on trail rides. I don't think I have any pics of her in photobucket to post on here. April is the one in front taken last spring...only pic on pb.

Guess what? We've got two birthdays to celebrate today! The Skippys will be singing a special song for the occasion. (A large number of ferrets, dressed in caps and gowns, come filing in and arrange themselves in four rows as a choir. There seems to be an empty space at one end of the front row.)
Paul: All right, where’s Skippy? He was told when to be here –
(Skippy, wearing a straw hat and carrying a bamboo cane, comes tap-dancing in from Stage Left, singing.)
“First you get down on your knees, Fiddle with your rosaries, Bow your head with great respect, And –“
(Skippy gets down on one knee.)
“- genuflect, genuflect, genu-“
Paul: Excuse me?
Skippy: -flect? (Looks up at Paul.) What?
Paul: Not the right song.
Skippy: Aw, c’mon, boss! It’s a great song! All bright, cheerful, you can dance to it…
Paul: True, but not appropriate for the occasion. (Hands Skippy a cap and gown.) Now put this on and get in place.
Skippy: Aw… all right. (Puts straw hat and cane to one side, pulls gown on, places mortarboard on his head and takes his place in the choir. As Paul walks away, Skippy sticks his tongue out at his back.)
(Paul stand in front of choir, takes up baton, and conducts Skippys as they begin to sing.)
Bright college days, oh, carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls.
Turn on the spigot, Pour the ‘tone and swig it, And gaudeamus igit-ur.
Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day.
To the jills young and sweet, To the spacious back seat Of our cagemate's beat up Chevrolet.
(Paul frowns and holds up his hand, and the Skippy choir stops singing, except for one voice at the end of the front row. Paul walks down to that end and listens as Skippy, his eyes closed and oblivious to everything around him, sings.)
“Get in line in that processional, Step into that small confessional. There the guy who's got religion'll”
Paul: *Ahem*!
“Tell you if your sin's – huh?”
(Skippy looks up at Paul, looks around at the rest of the choir, and looks back at Paul and smiles weakly. Paul smiles back – not so weakly – then walks back to his place in front of the choir. Skippy sticks his tongue out at Paul’s back.)
(The choir resumes singing under Paul’s guidance.)
To the ‘tone and Benzedrine, To the way that the dean Tried so hard to be pals with us all.
To excuses we fibbed, To the papers we cribbed From the genius who lived down the hall.
To the tables down at Morey's –
Small voice at back: - wherever that may be!
(Paul looks around, but doesn’t see the culprit. He shrugs his shoulders and continues to conduct the choir.)
Let us drink a toast to all we love the best. We will sleep through all the lectures, And cheat on the exams, And we'll pass, and be forgotten with the rest.
Oh, soon we'll be out amid the cold world's strife. Soon we'll be sliding down the razor blade of life.
(Several Skippys turn green around the gills and stagger away, while a handful faint.)
Paul (to audience): Fortunately, I planned for some backup.
(Several more Skippys, dressed in cap and gown, come in from Stage Right, replace all the incapacitated Skippys, and the choir resumes singing.)
But as we go our sordid sep'rate ways, We shall ne'er forget thee, thou golden… college… days.
(Paul looks around and discovers that someone’s missing from one end of the front row. He frowns and looks around.)
(Skippy, wearing his straw hat and carrying his cane again, comes tap-dancing in from Stage Left, stops and gets down on one knee and sings the last lines.)
“Hearts full of youth, Hearts full of truth, Six parts gin to one part vermouth!”
(Paul stares at Skippy, who just grins right back at him. Paul sighs and shakes his head.)
Paul: April, we want to wish you a happy birthday and many more. And a special happy birthday to Tom Lehrer.
(All the Skippys toss their mortarboards in the air, then frantically scatter as gravity does the inevitable. You can get hurt by a falling mortarboard.)
Paul

Springvalley Rose's APRIL says thanks and tomorrow on EASTER, there are 3 birthdays at my house. Asa, Desi, And Delila turn 4 tomorrow, April 12. I'll be busy with family gatherings so they got their treats and turn-out on the porch today along with their "friends" and co-horts in ferret mischief.
(I don't often delete images here on ferret because we aren't a strict © aware site and 99% of the images posted are ferret photo, but this one in particular was using an image by Ruth Morehead which is a real no no, sorry about that)
