Superstition Mountain Hike 22-Feb.

I thought I'd share a few photos from my hike last weekend. We had a lot of extra rain this winter and the desert has grown quite green with grass and wildflowers. I put my hands down and felt the grass, it feels like silk. Cosima and I had a lovely day.

Usually try to make trailhead for the sunrise but I ran a bit late and drove into it instead.

Some beautiful scenery. Does Cosima stay on a leash while you are in the desert? I'd be afriad the would step on some cacti thorns of something or worse yet, my deaded fear the "SS"

Thank you Yukka and Huronna. Glad you enjoyed. Heidi, yep she stays on her leash. Some people let their dogs run but I don't. I've gotten a couple thorns over the years lol. Cosi's fur is so thick she's lucky they can't get through them....but they do get through jeans lol. I've seen some snakes over the years and tarantulas, scorpians, coyotes, fox, elk, other wildlife, ravens, hawks, the only thing I really don't want to see and haven't is mountain lions....beautiful as they are pictures are enough

Your photographs are amazing, Lily! You definitely have an artistic eye for positioning the things you view in exactly the right place on the camera lens. Arizona is a beautiful state. I love the variation in the desert scenery. Cosi is adorable. I'm so happy Heidi posted that she's completely well now. Hugs, Greta

great photos , I go in several miles past first water trail head. spent all day sunday streightening scruffy's grave site. it was vandalised.

I don't know how I missed these......they are fabulous as usual. It's the first pics of yours that I've seen so much GREEN in the desert! You DO have an artistic eye for the perfect picture. I usually need to go back and look at your pics again and again...it's so beautiful. Thank you for taking the time and sharing them. Joyce

Kyle I love the First Water too -- I'm so sorry the grave was vandelized I don't understand why people do things like that.
