You want my ferret poo???

Here's a good one for you.
The couple that lives next door own a sports bar, in fact it's a "Steeler's Bar" so my hubby went over there last night to see if there were any tickets left for SuperBowl Sunday, since his siter and hubby and BIL were coming into town and they are all Steeler fans. But not even standing room was left and you have to have tickets to get in.

ANyway my hubby was tlaking to the wife, who is from the UK or Scotland, I can't remember. Apparently they has seen a rat in their yard or maybe more than one. Had already caught one in a trap. Now that may make you wonder...where does she live? Actually I live in a lovely development, but the property that joins th back of the years was a farmer's place. He recently sold it and the new owners have torn down everything. So that may be where the rat came from. I have not seen any, thank goodness.

Well she asked my hubby if she could borrow one of my ferrets. I guess she thought ALL ferrets were hunters. HA HA mine only hunt for their toys and food in their bowls. HUbby said there was no way I was letting any of my ferrets even outside. So she asked if we would save the ferret poo for her. He said I could do that UGH!

Now that would be pretty easy if I used a litter box, but I use newspapers. Can you picture me scrapping poo off the papers into a plastic bag.....Present for you

By the way, my computer has died, I'm on hubby's awaiting my computer guru's shop to open. I think I will need a new puter since mine is 7 years old

I read somewhere about people using ferret poo to scare off rats. BUt it don't work! We are not far from our complex garbage bin and in the fall a rat started comming in our yard. Cheeky devil would sit on the patio steps and watch the cats watch him!
One day Carl forgot to take the bag of ferret poo (litter) to the bin and there was the rat! He had torn a hole in the bag and was rooting around in it.
Although I can say that occassionally my cats used to catch a mouse in the ouse but since I have had the ferrets theres been not a one.

OK, Heidi. For each gift of ferret poo, one ticket to the bar or else no poo! Why don't you and I go into business together, gf? I'll cover the upper half of the continental US and you can cover the lower half. I do know for a fact that ferret poo scares away rabbits and mice, but haven't had a rat problem that I know of here (Thank God!). In fact, the poo may even scare away moles and such. Since I began putting it on my flower gardens, no rodent has dared to enter. hehehe Why don't you just take the soiled newpapers to the neighbor if you can agree on a deal, and let them lay the whole thing down to discourage the rat(s)? p.s., Heidi, About the rats. At one time I read in the local paper that on the street behind my home rats were coming through the sewers into the neighbors' toilets. Too my knowledge that didn't happen here. If it did the rat(s) succumbed to the plumber's roto router. lol Hugs, Greta

Too funny, Hubby had a friend at work that wanted to come see the ferrets, while he was here he asked if he could have a bag of poo for his basement because he heard it scared off mice...lol
I never thought anything else of it over the years until I read this post...lol
