It's been a while since many of us have posted.
That usually is a good sign, everyone is well, ferrets are good etc.
Well today I will post a Scout update.
Both Scout and Powder are now just about 6 years old. Can you believe that?
Where does the time go.
Powder is a Mizz Spazz and still full of energy and gumption. Always on the go.
While Scout has always been very laid back, forever in that dead ferret syndrome.
He's a big boy, typical male, fat belly etc. Made it to the potty papers about 90% of the time, though sometimes his rear would be one than and he would pee so much the floor would wind up getting wet.
Well yesterday there was a dramatic change. Late in the afternoon he came out of the bedroom sliding on his belly with his back legs splayed.
Belly was soaking wet. He seems to be very embarrassed which I could understand because it was not like him. During the rest of the evening, he was more and more quiet. Though he didn't seem to have any insulinomic symptoms, I did give him a little honey, but that didn't seem to make a difference.
My husband said he would take him to the vet when they opened this morning, because his breathing seemed to be labored and he was just not himself.
Scout right now is at the vet, he has fluid on his lungs, they have given him lasix for that and also because he has not gone to the bathroom this AM.
He is in an incubator and they are taking care of him.
Will keep you posted.
