Hey everyone! Got a question regarding our ferret, Taz. When he is excited during play time and trots about the room, he makes a funny sound, kind of like he's laughing. With every bounce there's the snorty/nasally sound. Not sure how to describe it! Lol It's only when he is in a hopping sprint or real excited. Is this just him being happy/playful? Doesn't seem like labored breathing or anything. Edit: Just went back to play with him and he sneezed about 3-4 times. It hasn't been chronic. He's VERY active, and there is nothing coming out is nose.

WOW he is a big beautiful boy...Champagne? That noise you hear is his sound of happiness...we call it dooking. Usually if you have two or more ferrets playing together and they are hopping around you will hear a lot of these sounds. Dooking or chuckling is a sign of happiness.
Mine will occasionally sneeze also. Dust on the floor that we can't see, something tickling their nose. My little Powder will sneeze every once in a while, but she doesn't have a cold. Scout has never sneezed to my knowledge.
Taz looks just like my Clyde (RIP) beautiful and fuzzy

We are planning on getting another in the next month or two, so then he will have a buddy to keep him company. I'm sure he will be even happier then. We were told he was sable, but I thought sables were dark colored? So you would call him a champagne? I'm sorry for your loss, RIP Clyde!

Taz is Gorgeous! He is one big healthy looking boy. As Heidi said the noise he is making indicate that he is happy. His coat looks soft and not at all dry so he must be eating right. You obviously play with him. It sure looks like you are doing everything right. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures.
