It's been pretty lately. I just wanted to let everyone know that Dar and I and 6 fuzzies are alive and well. We had some loose poops and prolapses last month but everyone seems to be ok now. We had 3 on flagyl for 2 weeks each, but we are thinking it may have been Drs Foster and Smith kibble? I would like to know if anyone else had the same thing. Not really diarhhea, just "pudding poops." We've been feeding DFS for a few years and never had this before. We took out the Natural Gold, then the Zupreem, and finally DFS, and that's when it resolved. I'm really liking my job. The people I work with are just great. Yesterday I was dubbed the Silver Fox, because of my silver hair, but it was amended to The Silver Ferret, lol. Our manager is near my age (never ask a woman her age) but the rest of the therapists are at least 20 years younger. But I am treated like a peer, a professional occupational therapist (my official title is assistant) And we have a lot of fun, too. Our patients love us. Today Dar took our Snickers to work with her to groom him. I can't wait to see what she does to him. I told her she oughta shave his face so we know what he looks like under all that fuzz. His face looks like it's offset somehow. update soon! Here he be!

WOW what a difference a cut makes. I've been MIA for a while also. I spent a week with my friend Suzie in AZ and also visited Lily who had moved to Rimrock. The was in Palm Springs for another week or so visiting very old friends. Just got back to Tampa tonight and lots of ferrets hugs and kisses. They were well taken care of by my husband

Snickers looks so cute with his new hair cut! My laptop stopped working. I was so mad. I made a appointment with the Geek Squad for Sunday. I really thought they would be busy. I was surprised when they weren't. The girl that looked at my computer was so excited when she saw the ferrets on my lock screen and again on my desk top. Since it wasn't busy we got to talk. She does fostering for a ferret rescue and she lives two blocks from me. I told her I was down to one ferret and has some stuff if she wanted it. She did and came over later in the week. She was thrilled with the Marshall Mansion since she has only one large cage and a small sick cage. We also gave her a playpen, play matts, blankets, sleep sacks, hammocks, N Bones, toys and a bunch of other stuff. I can put most of my ferret supplies in one closet. The only things that won't fit are the folding Marshall Mansion, the sick cage, some tunnels and a few other ferret things. Like Zeus's cat log he sleeps in and his ferret tree.

I was with my husband at the VA Hospital all day for his appointments and someone behind me on one line was talking about dogs and cats and how cute they are. We I had my Ipad and the desktop on it is Scout, so you know I just HA to open it and show it to him.

Wow, I just reread Dee's post. Well, Dee, maybe you can get your ferret fix helping out a rescue?

Chris, I don't know where the rescue she is foresting for is located. We have not heard from her since she was her to pick up all the stuff. She does fostering, has three children and works for the Geek Squad so I am sure she is very busy. I am not sure when I should try to contact her. She did invite Zeus for a play date when we can arrange it. We have had no time at all this week. This was the last week for school here so maybe we can get together with her this week.

I was just wondering. We met a young ferrent and her mother from holistic ferret here at our house when she came to pick up our old ferret nation last fall. We'd been sharing stories for a year or more. She has some serious medical issues and consequently dome emontional ones as well and we've barely seen or heard from her since. She was working with FACT, a local rescue/foster org.
Right now, we're wondering if we should bring the fuzzies to the Buckeye Bash or try to find a sitter. Another longtime fr friend from holistic is feeling poorly lately. She had offered to sit ours if we went out of town, but she was planning on going to the bash as well. Wish we knew someone else local. We hove no problem taking them, but we kinda thought about a quick trip to Canada for a few things.

I understand how hard it is to find a good ferret sitter. It really puts a damper on your travel when you don't have one. My friend that usually watches mine no longer has ferrets. I know she would still do it. I feel bad about asking her, I feel like I am putting her out. I'm not all that sure about the foster because two of theirs got out. They were able to get one back. I would worry about Zeus getting out because they are not doing anything different since the escape. We have seen coyotes running down our street. Tom saw one with a cat in it's mouth. Between them and the birds that can carry away a cat I am so careful that Zeus is safe before we open the door. He is usually in my arms when I open it.

All the white girls having tea/ Lola, Abita, Pandora and Rosa. Hmm... It just occurred to me, after 2 years, that their names all end in A...

LOL tooo funny. That "Tea" doesn't look to appetizing to a human but I bet the fuzzbutts love it. The two top ones in the photo look like they might have been blazes when younger and as they got older became more white? The two bottom ones are Albinos? Do you know is all the years we have had ferrets (since 1984) we have only had one albino and that is Powder who is keeping us hopping now

Abita was a silver, but not really dark. Lola is a brown/black patchwork. Her left rear leg is dark on the our side and light medially. Rosa is the only bino we've had. Pandorea has selective hearing, but we're pretty sure she's not toally deaf, and none of our current 6 are. We got Pandora from Petco when she was about 7 months. She's always been white, wit a few stray dark hairs, and the black beauty mark on her right neck, which is about the size of a dime. She's never lost it in 3 years of coat changes. You can see it here
