Even while it looks like we may be losing our amazing Miss Prissy... I got my first kisses from my lovely Pandora, after 3 years of patient waiting. I push her for it every day, but today she surprised me!

Prissy is actually doing better. Sh eis able to move around and of course poop anywhere but on the papers which cover almost the whole floor in her room. She's also strong enough to fight her medicine, so we'll see.

Prissy is one amazing little old girl. You can't count her out. Our Zoey is still going strong. She doesn't see very well any more. She can find her food, her bowl of soup in the kitchen at lunch time and her spoon with tone in her room at bedtime. She is not so good at finding one of the many papers all over the house when she has to poop. I guess she knows what is important(kibble, soup and tone). You have to love the little old ladies.

yeah, Dee. But you know, when Kahlua passed, one of her final acts was to drag herself into the litter box. She couldn't even get back out. But Priss has has a lot of days when it sounds like she strains to poo. It's better since we started her on pred for arthritis. She apparently just don't give a crap where she gives a crap. We're soooo glad we don't have any carpet. I seriously don't ever want carpet again. We got so lucky finding this place and the last one.

She's still here. Still eating and drinking and pooping ok. She let me hold her long enough to sleep in my my arms for 10 minutes tonight. She just feels so frail, but she's walking better. I'd like to put some meat on her. We've been giving her a little cream in her soups.

Prissy continues to improve. She's walking a lot better and her eyes are opened again. I think she's putting a little weight on too. She really is amazing. If she would just go back to using the dang papers...

Prissy is amazing. I am sure she fights so hard because she knows how much she is loved.

2 weeks later she's still with us. But now she has a tumor right under her left eye. If she had any sort of quality of life we'd consider surgery, but we're just going to monitor it. Booboo had a similar tumor removed and within a month he had 4 more. She's only eating soup now, kibble seems too much work and hard on her teeth. I've done some research on home euthanasia, but haven't found any I'd be willing to chance. I hate to say it, but we'd really prefer it if she just didn't wake up one day. We already have an urn for her, which we ordered when she was down, figuring she'd need it soon. I think she knows that and is just giving death the finger.

Hopefully when the time is right, she will just go to sleep. I wish that for all of our beloved little ones

And she's still going. She's been on the porch getting some fresh air just about every day this week. She seems to be walking better all the time, and her lump is not getting bigger. The worst part now is her messes. It takes a lot more work keeping her area clean than the other 6, who are free roamers when they are awake. Those guys have all become excellent at usng the pads in only a few corners. At our last place there were papers in almost every corner of the house and half the time they missed. I wonder if it's just a difference in absorbency, so the pee is contained in a smaller area?
I've been in contact with Dona at Broward Ferret Rescue. They are doing a calendar again this year. I'll let you all know when it's ready for orders.
