Now that you are all settled, have met some neighbors and gotten your dog back from his temporary caretakers, what's next? I think you have started working, everyone's personable? You like things so far?
It was a big move but at least this time it was the whole family together, all the fuzzbutts enjoying their new home?
Ok just checking on you

believe it or not, I'm still waiting for my license. All of the paperwork is in place, so it's just a matter of the state board granting its blessing and my license. This place already feels like home. You almost have to search for a stressor to ruin your day. Tonight we checked out the localest hangout. It's 1/2 mile away, with a cozy bar and restaurant. They're only open Wed-Sat 4-10. They have a different take on seasoning. Can't say we loved what we had, And they're not open sunday, so can't even go there for football or racing. Oh well. Stinks because it's walking distance. Supposed to go from the 80s during the day to the 40s at night this weekend. Autumn approaches. Dar was cold siting outside at the restaurant tonight. We're going to have to leave coats in the car. lol The fuzzies like the new place. It keeps changing, with moving boxes going out and furniture coming in. Now that it's cooling down, we'll try to get them out for short walks on a leash. The big open floor is great for sliding/bowling games. This place is cozy for me and Dar and furry family. The commute to work is ok, so we may be here a while.

You're in Tenn right? Do they recognize the Florida License or did you take a national one also? I have my national Medical Technology license, but I had to get Puerto Rico's when I was there and also in Florida I had to get Florida's. California is the same and I think NYC with mine but that is about it. Wed-Sat 4-10? that's a real rockin town LOL

It sounds like the new place is working out very well. I am so happy that Snickers is back home with his family. It's nice that his great adventure led to you making a lot of new friends so fast. I think it is amazing how the love of animals bring us together.

I took a test for national certification, but each state has its own licensing requirements. TN requires an FBI background check, and I did not see that in the Florida application. The whole process is redundant. I had to supply an official transcript from college, proof of citizenship, etc, all of which are required to take the cert test. So, there is no way to get certified ad a cert number without all that, but they still want to see it. Plus, my company does a background check (doesn't everyone?) My company is supposed to reimburse the cost of licensing, but I don't know if that includes the background check and all of the overnight mailings. Some of this may not have been requi4rt56sw26wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssq Pandora if i had a license from another state already.
Snickers is happy at home. red if I already had another license from another state.

Update: The licensing board meeting set for NOv 20 was rescheduled till Dec 4. Will this bloody waiting never end? One board member decided to have a baby that week and another lost his mom. I'm just thankful that they rescheduled so soon. They could have blown it off till next year. It will have been 3 months since we moved here and I'm still not licensed.

Yesterday I got my go to work letter in the mail. I applied to the company that hired me to move here and within 3 hours I got a call. Today I had an interview that went well. The lady that "interviewed" me had already decided that I was hired. During our conversation, it came up that there is a full-time with benefits opening right next to the place I was originally hired. This place needs someone ASAP, and all of the 8 facilities need PRN COTAs. so if any one of them local facilities has need I can get extra hours. So they DO still hire full time permanent. This place is smallish, 83 beds, but there was no urine smell as in most snfs. small workroom/gym, but every place I've been that does OT and PT has seemed so upbeat. I need this work for my soul as much as my wallet. It's now just a matter of HR calling me and discussing terms. I wonder if I could work full-time one place and get extra PRN hours elsewhere. From what she said, probably. I wanna thank you for your prayers. As I said, I never gave up, and I'm glad God didn't either.

Today I helped a guy with the chronic form of Gullaine-barre take a few steps for the first time in 2 years. I've been working on building up his arms for over 3 weeks to prepare for this. Afterwards I went into a rest room and cried and gave thanks. this is so much awesomer than putting tv satellites into orbit. I LOVE my job. Sunday his wife made Easter dinner for the whole rehab staff. amazing stuff. Most amazing thing I've ever done.
