Woohoo! The aptly named diva, Miss Prissy is 8 years old today. To my knowledge, she is only the second of the 25 ferrets that have shared my life to reach that milestone. ( I think Kahlua made it). She was the devil incarnate to other ferrets, except Kahlua, for most of her life. Now she's a sweet old lady just getting by. When I met Dar, she would tell me stories about Prissy and Jaffa trying to kill each other, and I would say, man if she was my ferret... Them screaming I could hear over the phone was like nothing I'd ever heard. When they came to Florida, it took months for Dar's and my businesses to get along. Prissy still has a tight muscular build. She may be just beginning to show signs of adrenal. or it could be just age. Dar has started giving her pred for suspected arthritis pain, and it has hlped a lot. She's a lot more energetic.

 Chris did't post this picture of Prissy and Yoshi,, taken a day before her 8th birthday.. I was
overwhelmed with Joy to find Prissy curled up with Yoshi like this.. She has not cuddled with any ferret since Kahlua passed
over a year and a half ago.. I warmed my heart to see her getting some ferret warmth from another ferret.. Dee and Heidi have
heard the stories of how much my little Miss Prissy hated every other ferret accept Kahlua.. She has really mellowed in her old
age.. |
