Just wanted to say thanks for the kind thoughts and let everyone know that the other ferts are all doing well. Yoshi and Rosa still pick on Lola, and now Jaffa has had a few incidents as well. I wish I knew what made her different. She is soooo loving and would love to be friends, I'm sure. She does give it back, but she can't lick boys that are biger than her or Rosa who is a psycho. Yoshi isn't a full-time bully, but finding Lola is a bit of an obsession for Rosa. So Lola gets free roam and Rosa gets caged. This time, we really will not get any more ferrets until the numbers are reduced by attrition.
It just hit me: in the last 24 hrs, I've been kissed by Lola & Rose (2nd time for both) and Pandora (first time ever). I wonder if they know how upset I've been...

People that have never had a ferret will not be able to understand how smart they can be. They are much more intelligent than they are given credit for. You and Dar are going through a loss and your ferrets know it. Each of us and out ferrets deal with loss in a different way. We say no more! We just keep falling in love with some unwanted ferret. When the next one comes looking to you for a home it will find it at your house. I speak from experience

I sure can understand your sadness and you other ferrets can feel it also. When we lost Really so suddenly and we left with just Mac, who was never an affectionate ferret, he started following us all around and just waited for us to hold him. He was always so independent but I think he knew we were missing the softness and love of a ferret and he was right there to oblige.
Just like dogs and cats, ferrets sense our feelings

Awwww, good Ol' Mac. That's a touching story. I had been neglecting the others to care for Alice, but I've been trying to make up for it.
