Our great vet is moving his practice to the other side of Phoenix. We already have to travel about 45 minutes to get to him. He is so worth it because he is the only vet this side of Phoenix that knows all about ferrets. His son has just opened his new practice in Scottsdale and he is joining him. What that means to us is a about an hour and a half to a two hour drive. We'll do it because we want the best for our babies.

Takes me an hour to get to my vet, but like you said, it's worth it.

I hate when that happens. I've had 2 vets leave a practice without knowing where they went. I found out when I called to make an appt and they say, oh, she's not here anymore.

That's an awful way to find out your vet is no longer there! At least we did get a heads up. We have an appointment for Zoey next Wednesday at the new place. She needs a Des. implant and they have them available at the Scottsdale office. I just hope it is not to hard to find.

I was rather lucky. My original vet finally hired another exotic vet to help out with his practice. Little by little this second vet took on more and more and finally the original vet sold the practice to him. The original one had worked solor for so many years , 6 days a week, he was really burned out. So he worked part time and little by little finally retired.
Thankfully the second vet is just as good as my first.
The funniest thing though is the daughter of the first vet, who I had never met because she was in high school and college, went to vet school and was practicing in a big clinic in Miami. After three years there she decided that she wn't the small town interaction with clients and lo and behold now the daughter is working for the vet who bought the practice from her father.
A wonderful circle and only 10 minutes from my house
