Neeps...boy he sure looks like a beautiful UK ferret, wondered if that was where you are from and check your e-mail addy. Aha, no wonder he had little dirty paws, has he been in the tunnels lately Haggis looks like a wee chap, how old are they? And Tatties......you defintely have to explain where these names come from. Yes I'm in the uk Haggis & Neeps are brothers from the same litter and are 4.5 mths now. Had them since they were 9 wks old. Tatties is the new one. He is 5mths old & have had him for just less than 2 wks. The pic of Haggis was taken when he was 15wks approx - He is my big chunky one and likes to sit on the others. My ferrets live outdoors and they have an outdoor playpen on the grass - Neeps loves digging and the day I took the pic it had rained so he thought it was time to get mucky lol. Tatties although older is the little one but he is catching up fast when I got him he was 750ish grams now he is just under 1 kilo He comes from working stock where the breeder bred for specific traits for hunting rabbits & rodent pest control. When I went to get him the guy's garden was full of ferrets in hutches, He has a pest control business & uses the ferrets for his main income so he needs lots cause only a few would burn out if overworked. I think Tatties will always be a bit smaller cause he was bred from smaller ferret strain built for speed & hunting instinct I do notice a difference in his behavior - it is more intense & he just has to 'kill' his toys when playing with them, He moves super fast & he is fast becoming boss in the business The names - I am Scottish and the boys are named after a favourite & Traditional Scottish dish. The names originate from the Scot's prononciations of the dish. Haggis - I am sure you have heard of this Neeps - Scot's word for Turnips Tatties - Scot's word for potatoes

How interesting! Are you going to use them for hunters or breeders or cuddly pets? Are these your first ferrets?
A few years ago my father's neighbor has rats under his mobile home park. He knew I had ferrets but there was no way mine would know what to do with a rat, So he asked me to save their "Poop" for him. UGH I did that for about two weeks and gave him the smelliest can in the world. Never knew if it helped get rid of the rats though. I bet it kept the other neighbors away though.
I have three ferrets, all rescues. Mac is about 8 now, he has adrenal problems and adult lymphoma. He doesn't do much but eat, sleep and potty, but he loves the newbies and is a real love himself. Powder, an albinio, we adopted from the animal rescue in November. And Scout from the same place in December. They are both about a year or so. He got our first ferret in 1984.....yes 30 years ago LOL, been ferrants for a long time
