This morning we saw Jaffa staring and rocking back and forth on his feet like he was retching, so we tested his BG and he was at 38. This totally bites. He and Alice are 4 months apart in age (both are 5 years old). Alice will be 6 in December, Jaffa turned 5 in May. I've not known a ferret to go 2 years on pred, with insulinoma, so it's doubtful either will make it to 8. They most likely won't even see 7.

I am so sorry to hear that Jaffa has insulinoma. I have watched Jaffa grow up on line. I remember when Dar posted that she was getting him from a breeder as a very large baby. I remember hearing about this big boy coming home and then moving from Canada all the way to Florida. I am sure I am not the only one to fall in love with Jaffa without ever meeting him in person.
We lost our Gordy to insuinoma 13 months after being diagnosed with it at 6+ years old. I'll keep Jaffa in my prayers for as many healthy years as possible. With your love and care I am sure he will stay around for at least a few more years.

My Gizzy was diagnosed with insulinoma about 6 months after i moved to Maricopa. That was 4 years ago and he passed away last October. So he was on pred for almost three years. When it finally took its toll on him he went down hill really really fast.

Jaffa is doing great. He has a lot more energy. I need to get him out and about again. It's supposed to cool off this weekend and the only car ride he's had in months was vacation last week. hopefully tomorrow. i just wish his coat would come in.

Yeah it was great. I wasted a beautiful sunday afternoon watching the bucs lose again and studying
I took jaffa out for a walk around the house yesterday and he actually ran a few steps. He hasnt run in months all the fuzzies like the cooler temps on the porch.
I cant blame them without evidence but the glasses i wore all day yesterday are
Missing. I looked everywhere including all their hidey holes
