Does anyone else routinely order ferret supplies from them?
I have always used them because of their variety, and good service
But I don't know if the company is still working or not
On July 2 I put in a big order. Usually you get a confirmation e-mail and a tracking number to follow your order.
A couple of days passed by and I got none of these.
So I called customer Service and got a recording...sorry we can't come to the phone right now, but leave a message....
So I did, and heard nothing. By the 10th I was really getting nervous and food was getting low, so I went to The Ferret Store (old name) and placed an oder which came within 6 days.

I still have not been able to get a real person at The Ferret Depot, still the same recording, but yet they are sending out e-mail advertizements?

They just changed hands. They did say they would work on getting everybody's orders out.

Boy do I understand your frustration! I ordered from them back on June 26. I did receive part of my order about 2 weeks later. I still have not receive the rest. I needed all the food I ordered because my ferrets always get a blend of three foods. I also ordered tone and treats. I too called and got the same message. I wrote to them, left a message on the phone and still no order or even a response! They charge my credit card right away and have not given me credit for the stuff I didn't get. I had to order from ferret.com. I got my order from them right away. I would sure like my money back of at least my order. I don't need it any more, but I want something.

We've been ordering almost everything from drsfostersmith.com they seem to have the best prices, if not the best selection. They also have dog, cat and other small pet supplies. I used ferret.com for years, then they suddenly raised their prices like 25-30% overnight. They have the fastest shipping, tho. DFS takes a day or 2 longer, but you only have to spend $49 for free shipping.

drsfostersmith.com Used to be The Ferret Store and they used to have free shipping no matter what...this was back in the 90's
When they changed hand to drsfostersmith.com the selection went down and availability of items seemed to be always out of stock. And their prices were higher all of a sudden. So I switched to Ferret Depot. I would alway have two windows up when I ordered and price checked and Depot was always cheaper and always had everything I wanted. So this was quite the chock.

I'm luckier than Dee so far as they had not charged me anything. If they changed hands it looks like they have already lost most of their business. You can't run a company this way expecially on-line

For the past several months, the former owner of FerretDepot.com had been phasing out their small pet division; which of course included FerretDepot.com. This could have resulted in the full disappearance of Ferret Depot altogether -- a sore blow to the customers that rely on us and know we can provide their every need. Thankfully, such a disastrous possibility for our customers was avoided when the business was acquired by RTM, a Pennsylvania based company with warehouse operations throughout the US, including Pennsylvania, New York, Texas and Nevada.

Thanks to RTM, Ferret Depot can and will continue stocking all inventories (which had been left dwindling) and providing all the many products its customers have come to know and love. Any products discovered to be absent from the Ferret Depot inventory are being replaced full scale, and any missing products will continue shipping the moment they become available.

Ferret Depot customers will soon be experiencing a number of new benefits by or before the end of July, with our warehouses fully stocked and our website going live with a full makeover. Customers will get to experience a dynamic updated store front, new products, real-time confirmation of stock levels and availability, tons of specials, and much much more!



They also had something on there in response to a question that they will continue to offer discounts to ferret shelters. :-)

I posted this to their Facebook page. I hope I will at least get some response there.

I order from Ferret Depot 6/26 that I have yet to receive my entire order. I did get some of it. I have left messages on the phone and emailed. No response at all. I want my order or my money back. They were quick to charge my credit card. They have both my product and my money! Where is my response?

Knownig that, we'll have to start checking ferret depot again, but we feed DFS food and their site is the only place to get it. And I just found that they don't have N Bones.

I was reading some of the facebook comments, and it seems they are still having a lot of issues at ferret depot. I don't know when they will get it all straightened out. I guess my next order will have to go thru DFS or ferret.com.

im shopped with the ferret store sents 2000 stayed when it changed to DFS for my cat ,fish, ferret tone ,lax, bandits banana , and also use the DFS ferret food i changed my 6 ferrets and 1 cat to a mix of 3 driffrent bags of grain free cat foods from chewy.com and they love it and if i do order DFS ferret food i add 2 1/2 pounds mix

I was reading, I believe on Facebook, that the original owner of Ferret Depot died. I can't remember his name but it sounded like he was a very nice guy.

I have been waiting for over a month and a half for my order or at least some response. I finally gave up and called Discover, my credit card. They tried to contact Ferret Depot and also received no answer. I now have a credit on my Discover account. So as far as I am concerned I will shop else where from now on and always use my credit card for purchases. At least they took care of me.
