This was one of the best days.
It included a walking tour around the town, a ride to a grammar school where we were entertained with songs and skits.
We were also able to see their classrooms and there was even some of the art work, plates and painted bottles, that could be purchased for a small amount.
We also had lunch with local families. Many families were involved since there were 130 of us.
Each family took between 10 and 12 of us and we had their local food and spent time with them.
Of course most of the families are farmers of a sort, and my family even had piggies. WOO HOO!
First we walk around town of Osijek
This was the first stork nest that we saw. As the days progressed we saw many more
It is amazing how they make their nests high up on poles and even antennae of houses.
On to the school visit
I bought a plate with painted flowers on it and the name of the town
A little more of the city
The food was great, all homemade with everything from the farm.
Hang onto your seats...here they come
And I do mean THEY!
We walked around the property and fields.
I can always seem to find the locals
Lots and lots of roses
Our host and hostess, Mr, & Mrs. Luggage
It's a good thing we had an interpreter with us because they spoke no English
Walking in town we wandered into a book store.
I could not believe my eyes
Anyone recognize this?
Or this guy?
This is the "Father of Croatia"
We have we been and where are we going yet?
A few more photos can be found
