Our awesomest girl broke a canine tooth last August. At the time it didn't appear to be a problem but now the gum is inflamed ants going to have to come out. She's on antibiotics for 2 weeks. Right now she's not eating much but we hope that the AB will reduce swelling and pain soon so she'll build her strength for the surgery.
It's scary because my best buddy Eddie didn'take through tooth extraction surgery. We need our Poppy

I had a couple of ferrets with tooth problems. Dexie had a chipped bottom tooth and consequently he would access under his chin, this is why the people took him to the shelter. When I adopted him , I immediately took him to my vet but since it was a bottom tooth he was leery about ding the extraction because there had been ceases where the jaw would break....don't want to scare you...so he sent me to a veterinary dentist, who rather than extract the tooth did a root canal on It. That worked wonders . He had a little stub of a tooth, but it healed and no more abscesses and he didn't have any problem eating.
Frick on the other hand wound up loosing am upper canine and then four of the little teeth next to it. My vet did these as they were already a hit loose. Never bothered him, actually nothing ever bothered him. LOL
It probably hurts her to eat, have you tried some gerber baby food, checked in gravey stage two. They usually turn their noses up at it first, but then will love it....sometimes too much, but it will get her strength up
