You left my heart bereft. Knowing you had left. Though I wanted you to stay. You had to be on your way. My gallant knight, fought the good fight. On your sweet head I left a kiss. Feeling so much how I would miss. The joy in those great boo-boo eyes. As you left I heard angel cries.

I'm sorry, I didn't even put his name, Sir Galahad. He was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma last Feb. Basically he had to go to the vet to be sewn up 3 or 4 times a month. His skin would thin and there was no muscle left to help, so he would break open and bleed. It got to the point where it just wouldn't heal and would pop open constantly. I thought I'd lost him in Oct, never thought a ferret could bleed so much and live, but he made it. Truly he was a miracle, I thought we'd lose him last year, but he was tough and kept eating and playing up until this month. He even played on his last day though he did stumble around alot, and only lasted long enough to put his ball in the tube. What a wonder he was, a loving little gentleferret.

Oh, my what a sweet face. Is there no end to the tragic things that can befall these little wonderful companions... DIP Sir Galahad. You did, indeed, fight the good fight.
