I found these posts interesting. How clueless people can be. What is even worse, how scary for the animals

We have to say when mom took 2 Tone to the Vet she was told she couldn't see him until after his surgery and that hurt her. The last time she saw him was to bring him home wrapped in a towel and was told NOT to unwrap him she is still sad about that. She doesn't have even one pic of him, because who knew?? Her thoughts are she picked the wrong VET. That maybe true we will never know.

I to am a veterinary assistant. The things people say to us. Sometimes you have to bite your tongue so you don't say something back to them or laugh in their faces.

Oh I agree some things are funny BUT actually I was more mad after reading stuff like that :
"Yep, it really pisses me off too. As I think the majority of pet owners are emotionally and socially retarded fuckwits, I couldn't trust myself to say anything by means of retaliation to them, so I usually just take it on the chin and add at least £20 to the bill by means of choosing the most expensive medication etc."
"Yeah love the idiot tax, our boss openly encourages its use. I often either prescribe more expensive medication, or just increase the dispensing fee on the drugs I'm prescribing, simple and unnoticed."
"I have the most annoying owner ever. Tells me that i've underdosed it (when I havent) and gives me internet print outs of the formulary of that drug and phones up the drug company etc etc :"|
"Owners should be banned from having the internet!"
"You can't learn from the internet what it took me 5 years at vet school to learn. Please stop telling me my job."
"but thats what really pisses me off, we ask for prescription health checks, regular health checks etc etc just to catch these sorts of problems, yet the owners always act as if we are just using it as an excuse to make money - no thought or thanks is given to us for identifying a problem."
A discussion on the most unlucky patient death, etc ...

Her thoughts are she picked the wrong VET. That maybe true we will never know. That is soooo sad. Things are so emotional at the time...you kind of just do what you're told. So I probably would have cried and wondered what I was going to do. I've actually walked back through doors before and watched surgeries but that was all planned. As for the towel - the vet SHOULD have just wrapped the tummy and let her see her fuzzies face. That would have been okay. I know that it's sad but at least then you could say goodbye. Vets sometimes...
