I had to put Toby and Teddy downstairs in the dining room for this week due to the nasty cold spell we are having. Our townhouse is in a wind tunnel and my bedroom is the worst in the house for freezing. I can easily go sleep in the cats room on the couch or downstairs but I had to be ready to move the boys quickly if the wind stirs up. Sooooo, I took the extra cage that came with Fred and Wilma and decked it all out for the boys. The only place for it is my dining table.LOL! They werent happy at first but they have settled in and will stay there until the weather warms up again. I am still taking them for short playtimes to my room though. I am going to leave the spare cage set up incase someone gets sick or it gets cold again. If post a picture but I cannot get it figured out.

Your babies have some pretty classy digs there, gf. And you've given me some thoughts on how to keep my little Munchkins warm through these cold nights, too. I'll just rolll their cage into the living room the way it used to be. Omg! We've had almost constant snow over the past week and it was way below zero last night. I heard poor little Itty crying in her sleep. That won't happen tonight, though. Hugs, Greta

I guess there's no company for dinner HA HA. Ferrets rule!!
I won't complain about the cold temps, but believe me for Florida it is really cold right now.

I know what you mean about the cold. We have had a sweet black and white stray cat hanging around. We have been feeding him on our screened in back porch. Tonight the temp. will get to 14 degrees, guess where the cat is....in our garage with a cat bed and food bowl. The furnace is in the garage so it stays warm in there. As for Cinnamon and Coogles they are comfy in the den. Stay warm everyone

It was -14 here this morning...my furnace has been working hard. I also, have edinpure heaters for the big ferret room since it was only 50 in there the last few days. It keeps that big room at about 60-65 which the ferrets really like....my house is insulated with new windows and doors. It's just COLD but we're comfortably warm. When it's this cold, I wear my "long-johns" and wolly socks and really layer up under my snowsuit to go outside twice a day to take care of the horses, dogs, chickens and cats. My cats have a heated room, dogs and chickens have heat lamps in their enclosures in the barn. Horses have their stalls full of bedding, hay and heated water buckets. They would still prefer to go outside, play in the snow and stand in the sun with a pile of hay. That's their choice.....We're all happy and healthy here in west PA....can't ask for anything more...
