Sorry I haven't been in to update you on the new kids. Been super busy. I did end up getting all 4.
Luna and Loki, the two from the private home, are doing great! They fit right in with my crew, and are currently caged in a three section ferret nation with everyone else. (boy is that thing TALL lol) There was a little issue of depression with both of them when I first brought them home. The day they came home, little Luna wouldn't come out of her carrier. She had a look of, "if I stay in here, will you take me home?" Bout broke my heart. But they are doing better now. Getting right into the routine. By the second day, they were even eating soup! I was giving it to the rest, and they both came up and sniffed it so I offered them each some and they dug right in! Luna is a petite little dark sable with a black nose. She is about 3 1/2. Loki is a big handsome silver. He is about 1 1/2. Both are very affectionate.
The two from the rescue, Bella and Rosie, don't play well with others. Rosie is getting a little better, but Bella got hold of Luna by the nose the other day and broke skin, so off to the vet we went. (Luna is fine BTW, vet put her on antibiotics as precaution) So for now, we are doing separate playtimes with a little bit of overlap, anywhere from 30 min to 2 hrs depending on what I am doing in there. I tried to use a playpen to section off part of the room so they could all be out together, but Bella is so tiny she can squeeze between the wall and the pen. Neither of the girls is from Marshall's, and they are very tiny. Bella weighs in at 1 lb 7 oz, and Rosie is 1 lb 9 oz. They had been in the shelter since Aug. 2011 because of biting issues. But since they have been home, I have not had one bite, nip, or even an attempted bite. Instead, I get turbo kisses!! When I updated the shelter, I (jokingly) asked her if she gave me the wrong ferrets!!
Bella is a dark sable, and Rosie is a sable. Both are about 2 1/2 yrs old. I am hoping with time we can work through the issues with others. Until then, they are my night crew. They are being caged in a two level critter nation that came with Loki and Luna
