Today I took my new friend Jan hiking with me in the Superstition Mountains. Jan and I met when I rode in her cab. She's a runner that has a knee injury and can't run as much, so wants to learn to hike. She surely did terrific for a first time out today in the mountains.
After our hike I drove her around the area because even though she lives a few miles from me, she's never been out to the Supers. I showed her Canyon Lake and the little western town of Tortilla Flat, and then we stopped to photograph a little church under the mountains.
I'd photographed this church before but what I did not know is there is a movie museum in back of it, AND.... the church is actually called the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel! LOL There's a big lifesize Elvis at the pulpit! LOL And there's hundreds of photos and movie posters from all the hundreds of movies filmed there over the years.
So, all the billions of times I've gone out there I never stopped to see this place until today! LOL Photos follow!
Oh and two of the doggie Vegas, my neighbor's doggy I dogsat over the weekend ~ real sweetheart!
