We left on Friday early evening after Bill got home from work. We hit quite a bit of weekend traffic, stopped around 9 in a place called Upland for some fast food Mexican and then continued on our way getting to our destination around 10 ish. After sitting around chatting for a while it was off to bed. The heat was around 90 degrees even at this time of night. I guess I must have eaten something bad at that place because about 2 hours later I was loosing it all in the bathroom a few times. I can't remember having food poisoning but this sure was it. Luckily by morning, I was just tired but not sick anymore and we got ready to go on a little tour.
We went to a place called Sunnyland Gardens. There is also an estate there for tourism but you have to get tickets weeks in advance.
The gardens were lovely and as usual I had my camera handy.
This was a plant inside and I couldn't resist
It was about 105 degrees by now and not a breeze to be found, so we got back into the car and went for a short drive up into the hills to a place called ...hmmm...what was it's name. Well it was this small rivers with a couple of clear pools and the temperature was almost comfortable...almost
You can see how clear the water was. After this it was back home to the AC, a little nap because that heat just exhausts you and then dinner was at out favorite Indian Restaurant. we go there every time we visit them.
When I went to bed, I got out my IPAD to play a game. Earlier I had tried to connect to their system and it was a no go but all os a sudden I was connecting without even trying. Maybe it was a neighbors? I have no idea but I wasn't complaining. I sat in bed and read post and checked mail for a couple of hours.
In the morning we all went in the pool...BIG one and then got ready to do Mother's Day brunch at the casino. Another tradition because it always seems that we are there when it is mother's day.
Then it was on the road again by about 3:30 and home by 6 or so.
So Now I have a couple more days and will return to Florida on Saturday and back to work on Monday a week from today.
It is hard to believe that my long awaited visit is almost over. Time sure does fly when you are having fun.
