Hey everyone, please keep Mittens in your prayers tomorrow morning. He is having his left adrenal gland removed. We hope that that is all that is going on with this little guy. An x-ray shows a very enlarged left adrenal gland, so large that his intestines are shoved far to the right. His glands are swollen too, but a biopsy came back negative. Other than having a very big belly, Mittens eats, sleeps and waddles around just fine. this picture was taken over the weekend, I had just bought him this bed, that he just loves. I am taking it with him to the vet tomorrow.

Healing thoughts and prayers coming from my house to you and Mittens that his surgery will be a total success and your boy will be back home with you very soon. What a good idea gf, to give Mittens his bed ahead of time so it has his smell and he knows it''s his and he loves it. The bed will be Mitten's familiar territory for him when he comes out of surgery tomorrow. Loving hugs, Greta

Hey everyone, Thank you all for your warm and loving regards. Mittens came out of surgery about 11:00 this morning. He is doing well. The left adrenal tumor was huge the size of a normal gum ball. The bad news is that it was wrapped around the vena-cava and it got cut in half. Dr. C stitched it up and glued it back together and waited to see if it would bleed out, it did not, thank God. The next 48 hours are critical. All of his vitals are excellent and she has him on morphine to make sure that he stays as still as possible and rests. I just left the clinic from visiting with Mittens. His skin tone looks good and his breathing is normal. He defiantly is out of it though. Dr. C plans on taking him home with her tonight. She has her own private practice and it is not a 24 hour veterinary hospital. She is going to call me about 6:00 to give me an up-date before she heads home with him. I have a class tonight and won't be able to keep you posted until 9:00 I just ask that you keep him in your prayers and send him loving thoughts. I am so glad that she was able to remove the tumor and that he made it through the surgery. Oh! she did confirm that his big belly is indeed fat and not signs of lymphoma. That is good news. Because his belly was so enlarged and his glands swollen we were worried that he had lymphoma even though testing came back negative. Again, Thank you all. It is so nice to have this group to talk to during times like these.

Checking back to see how Mittens is doing. Thank you for the update, gf. Seems your boy is being very well cared for. Bless your vet for taking him home with her. You don't find that very often. I'll check back again later. Hugs, Greta
