Cross posted. My Thread.
Thor is now 10 months old. I am concerned he is not eating as much as he did. Has he stopped growing? Spring slow down.
Right now he smells to high heaven. He is infatuated with Pandora, my female angora. she is about a total of 1 1/2 lbs. He is dooking up a storm. When he gets out of the cage he just dooks, and dooks. Straight to Hercules and her cage. he keeps going around the cage under the cage and just keeps singing to her. Pande ignors him. I am trying to get them to be together because Hercs is 8 years old and I do not want to maintain 2 cages if I can help it. Pandora can handle herself with him, but still she is so small. Thor is 8 lbs. I do not let pande out of my sight or reach when they are out together. Pandora can fit places Thor can't. She knows where they are and teasees him. Like a hide and seek or you can't me. She has had Thor by ear a few times. He backs off. I have been putting a blanket that Pande has slept on in his cage so he gets used to her smell. Right now he is still so fiesty. I am thinking that is not the word I want. He will just rub his head on Pande's blanket and dook, curl up with it and sleep with it. This is so un macho, but Thor loves his babies (stuffed toys) he covers them with the blankets and sleeps with them. I am concerned with him cutting back on his food. He is leaving about 1/3 to 1/2 in his dish. Springtime or lovesick or both.
Is this normal for a polecat ferret. I never had a polecatty ferret before. I know my angora's have not cut back much on their eatintg. They cut back some, but not to their summer level.
I have a hard time to get Thor to eat bones. I have ground up chicken and bones together. Hope he eats it. He will eat chicken, but leaves the bones. I find pieces of neck bones hidden in his bedding is he hiding this for later. (It stinks, if I dont find it). So I supervise his chicken eating. He only hides chicken and his mice.
I know is getting ready to go into rut, his almost full grown, he has a crush on Pande and it is Spring. How much will he cut back. Should I be concerend. BTW he is very picky about what he eats. He would eat beef cubes, liver, hearts, and salmon all day if I would let him. He is not a big chicken fan and I am trying to change it. I know he is spoiled. My Bad. He follows me like a puppy sits on my lap like a kitten. I don't know if there is a reason for him to be cutting back on his intake or I am just not giving him what he wants. He has a lot going right now.
PS sorry I have not been around. I had a relapse...the flu this time.
I am so tired still. But getting stronger but so slow. Now I am losing my hair.
