I love my ferret, Woozle. She is the sweetest little fert I've seen. I love her so much that I want another fuzz ball. Is it better to get a ferret not from the pet shop? I know of a local place that has rescues, but I'm not too sure about one of those. If a ferret has been abused, will they bee skittish around humans? Woozle seems to be a little dare devil, she's not afraid of a thing! She walks up to the cat and sniffs her ears, she chases and is chased around the house by the kitten and the dog. I have to keep her in her cage and my room more often this time of year because she opens presents that aren't hers to open. Will the new ferret take Woozle's lead? Will it trust the dog and kitten to be friends if it sees Woozle romping around the house with the other animals? Will it learn to let me and my nieces pet it? Any and all information will be appreciated.

Wow, michigansarah! That's a lot of questions for a furry we haven't even 'seen' yet. hehehe Your best bet for a new fur kid will be the rescue organization of which you spoke. I have rescued two ferrets from these shelters and have been very pleased with the results. Not only will you be able to select a ferret whose age is compatible with that of Woozie, but you'll have a choice of sex as well. The shelter will help you match the right fuzzy for your little girlie. Just make sure you contact the shelter and let them know you're bringing her along to check out a potential companion for her. Shelter people are experts at matching ferrets for temperament and all the other things to take into consideration when adding a new baby to your crew. They may suggest a male fuzzy will make the best buddy for your little Woozie. If so be prepared for lots more cleaning duties in the litter pan. Male ferrets can outdo female fuzzies any day for poop production. lol It will depend on the temperament and past experiences of your newbie as to whether he/she will follow Woozie's lead in bonding with your other animals. This will probably come with time, but it's impossible to access without more knowledge of your newbie. CONGRATULATIONS, GF! And have a wonderful time helping Woozie pick out her new lifetime friend. Don't forget to come back and keep us posted on how things go. We're here for you too, if you need any advice. Hugs, Greta

Our mom has bought most of us from a pet store and had good luck. The newbies or the ones she rescued are great as well. We also agree with greta.
