i finally made it here to post!! anyway, heres a christmas picture of my Elmo. i usually dont do holiday critter pics but decided id try it! for those who dont know, Elmo is my old man hes 7 1/2 years old now,had him since he was a little guy. he was fixed at about a year old so has quite the personality,an exceptional ferret. this past summer i found a lump in his belly.its agrowth in/near the intestine, surgery is iffy,we werent sure how long hed be with me so every day with him is precious. anyway hes doing well & apparently is in the Christmas spirit or he wouldnt have allowed this picture!!

Awwwww! Elmo is adorable, fleafihter! What a darling little boy he is. You are a great Ferrant to have a fur child reach the age of 7 1/2 years. As for Elmo's tummy tumor, I've often found that giving a fuzzy a daily dose of prednisone or prednisolone tends to temporarily shrink the tumor(s) thereby giving the ferret and parent more quality time together. Your vet can advise you on this. Merry Christmas, Elmo! And Happy Holidays to you. Hugs, Greta

thanks everyone! he didnt want the hat or scarf but a thread & a sqeaky toy got me a couple good pics.the hat didnt have anything to hold it on with so i put a thread on it! thanks for the info on the prednisone greta ill keep it in mind. right now i dont want to do anything that might change his health or trigger a change in the lump,if/when it becomes a problem ill ask the vet about the pred. in the mean time he doesnt LOOK 7 1/2 does he?? in the mornings hes active & looks great,in the evenings he just want food & a bed.cant blame him for that-if he were a people hed be like 75,dont know of any 75 year olds who are that active!

You're very wise for not changing anything about Elmo's care without first consulting his ver, fleafighter. I've had two ferrets on pred, but both times it was prescribed by their veterinarian. May you and Elmo have many more happy times together. Hugs, Greta
