There are no babu doves on my front porch this year ... there is a nest with four robin chicks instead. The parents spend each day digging up so many worms to feed their little ones that I haven't yet heard a peep of hunger from any of the 4 little chicks. I'm not sure when they'll fledge. There were 4 eggs to begin with and two hatched about the same time. The other two eggs hatched later, so those chicks are smaller.
While my son was mowing my lawn this evening, he came upon a nest of 4 baby rabbits. Their mother wasn't around and Mark's dog Toby startled one of the babies and it bolted. Mark thinks it ran under the evergreen tree in the front yard. I'm just hoping the little one found its way back to the nest. It's supposed to freeze here tonight. Funny, too. I thought rabbits lived in burrows the way wild ferrets and polecats do.

Greta, we have babie bird on our outdoor lite. 2 years ago we had robens and now we got black bird or puple marlens. lol it was so funny Ron said did you see what out on our lite, I said where have you been duh. They been there for 2 weeks now! Men they just don't have a clue of whats what. Rabbits make a nest in the grass or weeds. The milk of the rabbit is so strong that babies only feed once a day while the mom is out doing what ever rabbits do. So they leave them for long time. Enjoy your wild life I know I do. I am still feeding the squirrels. A family of Squirrels chued up the main wirries to my son in law's car. They has a nest under the hood. Oh was he mad. He said if they come back he is going to kill them. I hope they don't for their sake.Have a wonderfull day and oh happy Beleated Mother's Day. love and God bless. Sheila

Went into the back yard this afternoon to see the baby bunnies, but they weren't there. The mom rabbit has moved them and I missed out on seeing them :-( Hugs, Greta

Things are happening fast around here. I came home from the dentist's office today and noticed all the chick robins standing on the edge of the planter. When I reached to open the storm door to come inside I spooked them and the whole clutch flew away! Wow! My little robin babies have fledged. Hugs, Greta
