OK, this really happened to me today and I am still dumbfounded about it. I was in Wallymart this afternoon, standing in an aisle looking at allergy meds. and a moderately well dressed, NORMAL looking, 20 something, fairly attractive walks up behind me and says "excuse me".....holding a folded $20 bill in her hands she says..."I have been carrying this $20 around in my pocket for days until God told me who to give it to...I know you probably don't even need it, but, God has told me to give it to you"...she handed it to me, I took it, and said something like "OK, thank you"...and then she gave a look of total relief and said.."thank you, I feel so much better now"...turned and walked away. Now, I pride myself on reading body language and this young lady had a geniune look of relief with that almost hopping, skipping walk that someone feeling a weight off their shoulders would have. Believe me, I stood there for a minute looking around for hidden cameras. Now, I don't know what to do with it, I won't just "spend" it on stuff.

Gar, do you attend a church? If so, you could take that 20 and give it as a tithe. So that God can use that 20 to bless someone else too!

There is something we call...pass it forward. Someone does something nice for you, in turn you do something nice for someone else and so on. Perhaps you know of someone that could really need this 20 and giving it to them would really make you feel good also
Or you could buy your ferrets some extra goodies

Wow! I had somethng similar happen many years ago. I had all teh kids at home and was a struggling single Mom. It was my youngests birthday and I was trying to find something for his gift with only 5 dollars in my pocket. I went to a coffee shop and a man started talking to me and it all poured out. He handed me a napkin and told me not to open it till he was gone. Inside was a 100 dollar bill. I never got his name or never saw him again to Thank him for giving my son a great birthday.

My first thoughts on this were like Ericka's, Beastmaster. The $20 could be placed in the offering baske at a church of your choice or else sent to the church to be added to their income. But (now here's the paranoid part of my personality coming out), I'd check with a bank to make sure the money is 'real.' It could be counterfeit and it could be that somehow this woman came by the money dishonestly and her conscience is bothering her. Or ... she may just be a religious fanatic with compulsive problems. Hugs, Greta

god works in miraculous ways and count on us to recognize them and like was said before.. pass it forward...
like many i have a simliar story...
i was a young single mom... and it was christmas... i had put some things on lay away for my little girl... she was just three... her dad had promised to help.. but in the end.. like you can probably guess... them money just wasn't there...
now her birthday is December 23rd ... so gone was her birthday as well as christmas...
so there i was at kmart.. tearfully marking things off the layaway list... trying to make 20$ go as far as it could.. a couple decorations and a single doll...
as a sales assistant sympathetically helped me find the little i could another helped a man who was just ahead of me in line... He was an older gentleman... but not that old... probably seemed older to a 19 yr old girl... looked to be in his 50's ... greying temples.. a kind look on his face... He picked up his gifts and walked out... looking at over his shoulder at us with a Merry Christmas and left...
So i picked up my measely little package and headed toward the exit... just as i got to the door the clerk that was helping me ran up to me out of breath... wait wait she says... you forgot the rest! It broke my heart ... i dont have anything else i said...
She had tears in her eyes and said yes sweety you do....
the man in front of me ... had paid for over $400 in gifts for my baby girl...
i never forgot him.... nor ever knew who he was... i put a notice thanking him in the local paper but no one ever responded...
to this day i say a prayer at christmas.. and i do one more thing ... i look at christmas time.. for something to speak to my heart... for someone that needs just a small helping hand... i dont have munch money.. but i do what i can .... sometimes its paying for groceries for that single mom behind me in line that looks a lil too worried... or a gift for a family in need... i never leave a name.. and usually try to make it as anonymous as possible..
just my way of passing that kindness on to another...

I believe things happen for a reason, maybe partly for all I know, was just to start this and other discussions among people to let the different stories of how there are such good people in this world, something we need to try and remember with all that is happening. I have put it to the side in my wallet and will know what to do with it when the time arises. Oh, by the way, it is not conterfeit.

A few months ago at my church, everyone was given an envelope with money in it. It was either a 5, 10 or 20 dollar bill. Along with it was a notecard stating that this was an act of kindness and love and to remember that Christ cares/loves them. I got a $5. bill and used it to help pay for the person's bill behind me in a Wendy's drive-thru. Other people used theirs to pay for food that they donated to a food bank. Others gave their money to people in need that they met on the street or in a store. I thought this was a great outreach to the community, especially since our church membership is around 1600.
Hey, here is a suggestion, donate it to a ferret shelter or animal shelter for much needed supplies. Christina

[glow=red,2,300][/glow]Wow BM God uses people in all kinds of ways. I read all the other comments and all I can say God knows when His chidlren are hurting. I remember about 5 years back it was my middle granddaughters birthday and I was flat broke. Not even the old man had any money. Will I was on my scooter out takeing the dor for a walk and I stoped at a friends house talking with them. I told them that Lisa's praty was that Sat. and I had no money. So after a while I left and when I started out to the steet to go home the house next door to them in front of the mail box was a $20.00 bill. I truned around and went back to my friends and told them. I had the money for her a presnet and some gas for me to go to the party. One other time we was hurten and I found a perces with $600.00 in it. I useed it to pay some bills and buy food with. But if I found that much today I would have given it back to who lost it. The person who lost it had money they have a house in fla and her in town. BM just praise the Lord. love and God bless. Sheila

I was on the giving end of this once. Money was tight for us and I had a $20 bill folded up in my change purse that was going to be my money for the week. I went to my prayer group and suddenly started thinking about that folded up $20. I sensed that I had to give it away, but kept thinking that I must be crazy to have those thoughts. I kept pushing the thought away, but it kept coming back even stronger. My heart started pounding and I got more and more uncomfortable. Finally, during the prayer time, I told the Lord , "Ok, I'll do it, just tell me who and when." At the close of the evening I heard "now". I gave it to the lady who had hosted the group that evening, and couldn't get it out of my purse fast enough. My change purse was empty except for that $20. The next day, I was getting something out of my purse and I saw something sticking out of my change purse. It was a dollar bill. I was surprized, because there was nothing in there the night before, but thought maybe I had been confused. The amazing thing for me was that until I got paid 5 days later, everytime I needed some money there was something in that change purse.
