I was wondering if any you had an expericence with fund raisers. Last week our tech saw a cat get hit by a car. The car didn't even stop. She went back and got the cat it was badly hurt. She brought it to work. The cats jaw is crushed. He also has head trauma. He will be alright except for his jaw. He needs 2 operations on his jaw and they are very costly. About $5000.00 We want to do a fund raiser to help this kitty but none of us had ever done a fund raiser and don't really know how to start. He is only about a year old and even with all the pain he is in, he has never tired to bite or stratch anyone. He is just a sweetie. If you can think of any suggestions to help us get started we would appreate it. Thanks Robin

The poor kitty!! Do you think a lottery might work, Robing? If you could post here and ask for your post to be shared with other animal sites, you could let everyone know that you want to run a lottery or raffle for this poor animal. You can request people to donate prizes and then you can sell tickets (with numbers on them) for $1.00 apiece or so. The prizes would be donated by those who want to help. At the end of the raffle, someone could draw numbers out of a 'hot' or basket or something like that, and whoever had a ticket with a number that matched the ones pulled out of the hat would win a certain prize. I know this has been done here before to raise finds to help shelters. I don't know why it wouldn't work to help raise funds for this kitty's surgery and treatment also. Hugs, Greta

Or you might try a garage sale. Remember some peoples unwanted things are others treasures.

You could start a group on face book for the kitty. I have seen several similar groups that have raised moeny for injured or abused pets. Quite sucsessful getting donations.

These are all great suggestions. Thank you so much. I am going to share these with my co workers and see which one we want to go with. I am not real sure about a garage sale though. It's still snowing here and I am not sure that would go over real well with the snow. I wish it was summer I could get rid of some unwanted stuff.
