I think he is getting better about biting anyway. I have been finding ways of spending time with him while he is out, and I love to watch he and my dog chase each other. He is exictable when he plays though, and I watch him carefully when he gets wound up. I love even my small victories. Lately I have been able to hold him for a little bit longer before he squirms to get down, and don't get so freaked out when he climbs me and I feel his cold little nose against some exposed skin He has sunk his teeth into the hand/wrist wraps for carpal tunnel syndrome that I wear to protect the parts that he has damaged before. Even though the outside has healed the inside layers are still sore. He has nipped my fingers a few times or just caught them on the edge of his teeth and that is OK. I can deal with little nips. I had expected that. I couldn't find him the other night when I was getting ready to pick up my husband at work, and he didn't come out when I called him. As a experiment, I shook his plastic food jug hard, to make alot of noise. In just a few seconds I saw his cute little face and pink nose peeking out from behind my bed, where I guess he had been taking a little nap. I am feeling more confident about handling him and am enjoying him more.
I can't trust him around others though, so if I am not home alone, he can only explore in my bedroom, and he likes and prefers to run around the house. My husband usually works 5 nights a week, so Charcoal and my outside dog (the one he plays with), both get to run amok inside the house on those nights. Neither of them understand the other nights though. This week my husband only worked 4 nights, so their playtime is less this week. The only thing that came with Charcoal was a softside halter a stretch leash. He was wearing it in the car when they met me to give me Charcoal. They said he really likes walking outside with it and he liked it that day when I brought him home. I want to put in on him this weekend to give him some time out of his cage and not locked in my room. I am just nervous about him slipping out of it. He didn't the day that first day. I will put the halter and leash on him in the house first and let him walk around there, to make sure that I have put in on properly and that he can't wriggle out of it.
