Wilma has a new home (sort of)

I made a decision yesterday to take Wilma out of the cage she shares with Fred and give her her own home. He has bul;lied her since we got them but it hasnt been serious till the last couple days. We have had to interveen a few times.
I put her in the spare cage in my room and gave her a few toys and a new hammock and her sleep sack from the old cage. I threw in a pillow that says "Girls Ruls and Boys drool". LOL! And I tossed in an over sized old felt slipper that I dont wear anymore thinking she would play with it. Lo and behold she made it her favorite sleeping spot. Shes so tiny she can crawl right inside it and snuggle down.
When I took her out for playtime last night she was so different than usual. She usually jsut snoops around and plays in the rice box, but last night she was sooooo animated! She played with the toys and ran back and forth chasing me and attacking my house coat. She came up on the bed with me and had to explore my hair and my pockets. Totally different girl! I love it!
Her first night alone went well. She woke up when I went to bed but only for a few minutes then curled up in her slipper and went back to sleep.
She gets along with all the other ferrets very well so now its easier having her already upstairs to take her out twith the rest.
I have to take Fred out and play with him seperatly since he likes no one but me.
I think this is gonna work.
I am trying Willow in the cage with her a little bit every day to see how they may do living otgether. If that works she will have company.

I had a ferret that couldn't play nice with anyone!! When Spanky was alive I would take her out of her living area (she was crippled and had two of the ferret playpens put together as her condo) and sit in the floor and play with her. Once Mandy spotted her she would come after her. When I saw her coming I would hold Spanky up over my head to keep her away but she would go so far as to climb up my body and onto the top of my head to get to Spanky. It got to the point where she would attack any ferret that came near her. Sandi and I finally found her a friend that she liked and could "live" with. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago her friend had to be helped to the Bridge. It took a while but I think she's finally found another ferret that she gets along with.

Sounds like you solved the problem. Most of us get along but sometimes we will fight with Ash, mommy will interevene and solve it.

I bet Wilma is so much happier now. I bet you are also. Some time they just don't get along and there isn't anything you can to, so you make adjustments. Love the idea of WILMA SLEEPING IN YOUR SLIPPER.

You've done good, Shadoe!! I think Wilma loves the smell of mommy in her sleepy slipper. hehehe Poor Wilma was feeling overwhelmed by her big, bossy brother. That's all over now and your sweet little girlie can blossom into her real, frisky self. I just love the pillow idea! Girls Rule! Boys Drool!! hehehe Don't be too hard on Freddie though, gf.
