Ok I have never had to do this before how do you check a ferret's mouth? I know it sounds stupid but I try and open Stanley's mouth to see if the problem is his teeth or a sore in his mouth and he just clamps down. So how in the heck do I get his mouth open?

Most ferrets yawn when they are scruffed. Pick Stanley up by the scruff of his neck, hold him so he is hanging there and be prepared to take a quick peek when he yawns. If this doesn't work, come back and let us know. Someone will certainly come up with something else to help you. Hugs, Greta
