That article is so right! Holding a ferret is invaluable experience for vet tech students. My vet has to teach his techs how it is done. If a ferret is held correctly they have so much less stress when visiting the vet. I am sure there are ferret lovers near most vet schools that would be happy to bring their ferrets for hold a ferret day at the school. I know I would.

I've really been lucky with my ferret vets They have always held them properly and talked to them before any examination The ferretvite is always handy and that strip of yummy stuff always distracts them when it is shot time.
I consider myself extremely lucky with the vet I originally found, and when he retired the exotic vet that took over the practice had worked with him for about 2 years. And now there is another new vet...the daughter of my original vet. How is that for keeping it in the family. ALso the wife of the owner will be coming back now that the children are all in school.
